Composer reqd: Dolly Did Ya

Poms from Oz have just recorded 'Dolly Did Ya' for a new CD. It's sort of a country spoof. We know it was recorded by 'The Warblers' & thought that Dory Previn was the composer. But I can't find any confirmation on the web & can't finish the artwork until I'm certain.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Tropic Al

Could you post a few of the lyric lines, please?

V1. Well I'm lying here crying & I feel like dying
Don't know what I'm gonna do
Cause all my friends are working & I'm lying here hurting
Got nobody to tell my troubles to.
Well I've been here before & I made it alright
And I know I'll probably be here again,
So I'll put some records on & listen to my sisters
Tell me about their troubles with men.

Ch. Tell me Dolly did ya die when your lover said goodbye?
Loretta was it better with him gone?
Emmy Lou tell me who did you turn to?
Did you find a little comfort in a song?
Patsy were you crazy when your sweet dream baby
Up & put his walking shoes on?
Tell me Dolly did ya die when your lover said goodbye?
Loretta was it better with him gone?

Hi, Al -
If you have complete lyrics, could you post the whole thing? I found the Warblers recording on MP3 on this page (click) - last song on the recording.
I checked the Hary Fox Agency's Songfile service, and it did't have the song listed.

Thanks Joe
APRA (Australian Performing Rights Ass) has given me the names of the band members in 'The Warblers' & says I can put these names followed by [CONTROL] in the booklet & put aside money for them against a future claim. Apparently I also need to try & contact them to tell them about this. But I've not got any idea how to find them. In any case I'd prefer to have the correct information.

The band members were
Katie Ford, Maggie Hunter, Steve Heath & Greg Earnest

Here's the rest of the lyrics

5. DOLLY DID YA

V2. Now I'm sitting in the kitchen just a hoping & a wishing
That you'd come walking back in
With that funky old bathrobe & nothing else on
But maybe just a little old grin.
Well you know what they say "That was yesterday"
And you never can go back again.
So I'll flip those records over & listen to my sisters
Tell me about the troubles with men.

V3. Wanona did he phone ya just to see how you were doing
And to tell you that he'd like to be friends?
Nancy did you fancy he would leave off in Texas
And never see that cowboy again?
Tell me Katie Lane did you dial up & hang up
When you heard his voice on the phone?
Tell me Dolly did ya die when your lover said goodbye
Loretta was it better with him gone?

Hello from the composer! Wow! That sounded weird. I would love to hear the recording. What a thrill. By the way, it is Wynona (Judd) Nancy(Griffith) did ya fancy you would leave Austin, Tx and K.d.Laing (that voice) which has since been changed to "her voice"

If anyone reads this, I'd love to hear from you. Take care, Maggie Hunter
