Having trouble using files I down load from the Mudcat when I down load the them and try to use them, I get error message that the file is not a valid Win32 application. How is the best way to deal with stuff I down load from mudcat.

You may need to extract the files from an archive - if the file is a .ZIP file, use WinZip to extract. The last time I downloaded the database, about 2 years ago, it was a DOS application that ran in a window. But it all works okay under Windows 95.

Hi, Raymond - the first thing you have to do is unZip the Digital Tradition files, using WinZip or PKZip or something like that. Make sure the Digital Tradition files are all by themselves in their own directory/folder. then Click on the go.bat file, and the database will set itself up. To run the database, click on folksong.bat. You can drag folksong.bat onto your "Start" button to give yourself ready access.
