BS: Happy Birthday WYSIWYG !!!

Subject: BS: Happy Birthday WYSIWYG !!!

This one almost got forgotten. A very Happy Birthday to you Susan.
I wish there was a better way of starting a thread to wish a member best wishes. It seems if we don't go and look under Photos and Info than Birthday's can be missed. Just by chance I went to this section and lo and behold here is a member that participates on a regular base that almost got passed by. Not because we don't care Susan but because one does not visit the Quick Links everyday.

So here is a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all those we have missed as well.

Happy Birthday, Susan!!

And, to any others whom we may have missed recently.

Alba used to be pretty good about checking that...someone needs to pick up where she left off, maybe? (Good for you for noticing, Adrien!)

Hope you had a good day, Susan. May you have all that you need and want in a very prosperous new year.

Thanks, all. A quiet and productive day catching up on home chores for the next round of aquatics, a nice birthday present from Hardi, and Stromboli with Stout followed by HOCKEY. Also I treated myself to the odd venture in transferring a tape to MP3 for a long-lost, prized tape; the latest Google search for its maker turned up a FABOO set of pages I'll use at a workshop that will honor her (and others) as a preserver of spirituals.

Honestly, there were many days when I really didn't think I'd make it ti 55, but dang! Here Ah am and going strong!

Happy birthday Susan!

Why is it that I am always at a loss to write anything other than that...even on cards....

O Well, hope you had a real fine day and have won the lottery and are now jetting to Paris or Madrid.

Fuckin' A Tweed......Are you telling me all you can ever write on a birthday card is "Happy Birthday Susan?" Damn Man, that's some kinda' pathetic, especially if you send the card to me.....My name is Pat or Spaw, not Susan.

I bet you get lots of flak from your friends like Mike or Bob or Ken if all you ever say to them is "Happy Birthday Susan." Ya' know, its really no wonder they all think you have a screw loose. Shitfire Bub, you got some stripped out holes and no screws at all...but I hate to get into your love life here.

Try something different......Like,uh....hmmm.......okay, try "Many Happy Returns of the Day."   It makes no sense of course, that returns crap, but wtf.....Give it a shot.

Oh yeah, and Wyzzy, for you------Happy Birthday Fred

Darn. At first read I saw that as a 'TABOO' set. For a moment I had to wonder.

But taboo or not, I do wish you a scrumptious year, Susan.

Happy birthday to another of the Cat's more enjoyable posters, and at your age, still a mere poster child.

Of course, your nom de plume always brings to mind Scrooge's former employer/giver of Christmas parties for some reason.....

Happy belated b-day, Susan.

Several years ago, Susan was the person who invited/persuaded me to quit lurking and guest-posting and sign up as a Mudcat member. She even convinced me to come up with a fake name and not to use my real name.

I'm glad you lured me in, WYSIWYG ~ Thanks!

PS: Thanks, too, for introducing me to the idea of using the tilde as an em-dash ~ like that!

Forgive me, Susan and all, but I just remembered something I came across on as birthday card for my older sis years ago:

Oh happy day, when you were born,
Early on a sunny morn;
The world rejoiced, and the doctor said,
"Oops, I dropped it on it's head".

In honor of my advanced age, for my B'day I treated myself to "one last visit" with my wacky, wonderful, finally-found-the-right doctor, who is leaving the area at the end of June. This was a major upset, but it had a silver lining in that once I discovered how much of an upset this was, I proceeded to get a lot of things sorted out about a whole lot of things.

I'm just back from that visit. I got a boatload of standing prescriptions renewed, and some overdue tests booked (they'll come back before his departure). And I'm VERY pleased to have discovered that he's only moving as far as the Philadelphia area!!!

So I will be able to maintain an annual visit to the DO/internist (plus other access whnever needed, such as if local lousy docs are not doing right by me with routine cough and flu care). I'll make sure all the locals send copies of anything to him so my main file will be there as well.

Whew.... this is a HUGE relief. A place to stay overnight on the way there and back also turned up in the last few months, with a very nice nearby pool. Both of these had also taken years to find..... a wonderful new friend lives along the route as well, so--

Sigh..... I got just what I wanted for my B'day, plus the news I'd lost another few pounds (without even trying). My clothes had already told me that, but it's nice when the numbers match up too.

~Susan

TRUBRIT:

"WYSIWYG" is a well-known "computerese" acronym for "What You See Is What You Get." It became generally well-known in the late 1980s as a description of the Macintosh user interface (which the Windows interface would more-or-less duplicate later), especially in regard to "desktop publishing."

If Susan means anything ELSE by "WYSIWYG," I trust they she'll enlighten us. Or maybe she'll explain why she chose this name and how she feels that it is appropriate as her identity.

Alls I know is, if I win, I get to keep Rita. What the heck, her room's made up permanent, so she might as well come on over and watch hockey with us.

Acourse where Rita goes, Bill goes, so she won't be lonely.

If you're gonna lure Rita with HOCKEY, I don't need to fear her straying far! She'll prob'ly hide in the root cellar if you try to claim your win on THAT platform! And the corollary is, " where Rita stays, Bill stays, so she won't be lonely."

(so now we're even...I refreshed yours!)
