There are so many amongst us who admit to being influenced and introduced to performing by him but I bet at the time there were also many who had never seen a guitar let alone handle one. If Lonnie had popularised his music with the piano would we now be a nation of pianists of all genres and ability as we are with the guitar? Just imagine, if the demand for the guitar had been only a fraction of what it was, would there be more forests, if the demand for the piano had been as great as the guitar would the cast iron industry(certain piano frames)be in better shape?, and how would we have ever got to so many clubs to do our thing humpimg a piano with us? Steinway and Yamahah could be the names on our lips when speaking or our instruments. The mind boggles! |
