Manchester United beat Bayern Munich tonight, in Barcelona, in the most important club soccer game in the world. There will be a lot of modern folk songs that will come from this. Modern folk music, you can't beat it! Celebrate. Michael Bracken |

19 Apr 01 - 09:25 AM (#444301) Subject: RE: Fairytale of Barcelona From: Wolfgang A perfect day for refreshing this thread. There'll be no songs this time. Why not? For the same reason why there are no songs written when the English beat the Irish in football but several songs when the opposite happens. Wolfgang (grinning) |

Off topic - why is it that the quality of singing at English football grounds is such unmitigated crap? Rugby fans seem to have far better voices and know a heck of a lot more songs - just hang out in a pub with the London Welsh or London Irish for some "hairs on the back of the neck" moments when they get into full voice. |

Leeds United have managed to sneak through at every stage, despite all the pundits writing us off. We'll probably do the same in the final. Sorry. Les |
