Very funny 3-part song (Young Lord R, Mum Lady R & Lord Dad R) from the 70s... anybody remember the words?

Is that the one that goes "Where the bloody hell have you been, have you been, have you been" etc?

I always loved that number. Can't really remember much:

Mind yer bloody business, bloody business, bloody business... Lady Randall, our Mam

Don't talk to your mother like that, mother like that, mother like that... Lord Randall, our son

That's all the brain cells contain. Didn't it end in some sort of canon or round, wherein all three of them start squabbling and arguing? Great send-up -

I wish I could remember it - you could try emailing omega3 which is the new roaring jelly, I bet they could help.

Just thinking of them brings back some great memories.

So far as I can recall:

Where the hell have you been, have you been, have you been?
Oh where the hell have you been, Lord Randall my son
???

Mind your bloody business, bloody business, bloody business
Mind your bloody business,Lady Randall, our mam
There's no need to get mad, I've been out with the lads
So mind your bloody business, Lady Randall, our mam

Don't talk to your mother that way, mother that way, mother that way
Don't talk to your mother that way, Lord Randall my son
You bleeding young tearaway, you'll turn your mother's hair grey
Don't talk to your mother that way, Lord Randall my son

Come and have your breakfast, your breakfast your breakfast
Come and have your breakfast, Lord Randall my son
???

I don't want no breakfast, no breakfast no breakfast
I don't want no breakfast, Lady Randall, our mam
I don't feel too frisky, I've been on the whisky
I don't want no breakfast, Lady Randall, our mam

Do as your mother says lad, mother says lad, mother says lad,
Do as your mother says lad, and don't waste good food
At your age its sinful to get such a skinful
So do as your mother says lad, and don't waste good food

(all sing their different verses at once)

E&OE

Howard has remembered far more of this than I could, but I seem to have the tune as the one used for "O, my little Augustin", or "You can't put your muck in our dustbin" for the lower orders.

The name I have for it is what I remember from childhood as being "Did You Ever See A Lassie (Go This Way, Go That Way)" which may be the same air as the one mentioned above. We also sang it on long boring schoolbus journeys with the words "Here's To The Bus Driver".

Looks like I was wrong about the canon bit though.

What happened there?

The final verse was nothing as polished as a canon or round - the three of them just shouted different verses at each other at the same time.

It was very funny.

I hope someone can come up with the bits I've missed

Roaring Jelly - now reincarnated, well mostly, as The Omega 3. Contact them at www.theomega3.co.uk.

With one or two minor differences, Howard remembers it much as I do, although I only remember hearing it once. The tune was the one gnomad quotes. The last two lines of verse 4 were:
It's probably gone cold. Do as you're told.
Come and get your breakfast Lord Randal my son.
The first three verses were repeated all at the same time, then I think there was an instrumental verse, followed by 4,5 and 6 and then those three all together. Then I think they sang the whole thing together - 1&4, 2&5, 3&6. This time, the line "Do as you're told" was screamed and became "Do as you're bloody told!"
I also seem to remember line 3, verse 3 as:
"I'll clip you round the ear'ole - I'll kick you up the bum".
Perhaps it varied from time to time. It was, indeed, VERY funny.
John Kelly.

Quite correct John -- and "I'll kick you up the bum" became "I'll kick you up the arse'ole" in the free-for-all!

And I think Lady R's missing lines are:

Just look at the time,
It's quarter to/past nine {or similar]

and

It's probably cold,
Do as you're told!

If line 3, verse 3 is as HH has remembered, then the lines I'd put there probably belong to the first verse, where I had a blank.

Way, way back (in the mid 1940s, they were singing "The Fatal Knish" or "Mendel, My Son"

I must admit, I liked Green and Yeller from the first time I heard it.
