Next April my friend and I are going to China to do a seven-day trek along parts of the wall, including through the Yanshan Mountains and 300 steps of Heaven's Ladder, to raise money for this wonderful charity. Macmillan were a massive support to all of us at this time, and I want to give something back and make sure that other people living with cancer have the chance to experience the work they do, until such time as they are no longer needed in the world! The climate, altitude and terrain will make it more of a challenge than we could do in England in the same amount of time, and having a challenge gives us more motivation and hopefully generates a higher amount of interest in the charity. Incidentally, after the summer I'l be going back to London for uni - where there are much less hills and paths to walk on. I'll go to the gym but I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere good in London or near it for 'proper' walks? |

Maybe you should ask Michael Palin to travel along? He's done those great sort of eccentric travel shows and would certainly have some experience to share AND bring a lot of publicity.
