I'm the guest at Redditch Folk Club on Sat 12th July
(with m' band's fiddler Anne Brivonese)

They seem to float for venues...
As yet - even I don't know!!!, info on the web reading thus...

Redditch Folk Club Various venues Ring Bryn for this week's location, Bryn Colvin 01527 545560

So any Catters wanting to come should ring Bryn then.
Will post more when I know more....

Cheers - Duncan

Try B98 4JX: that is in Redditch. B29 4JX is 12 miles away in Weoley Castle, Birmingham

Well unless there are two places called the same in Redditch, then this would appear to be the location.

St Lukes Memorial Hall Evesham Road, Redditch, Worcestershire, B97 4JX 01527 450245

Redditch is a nightmare to drive around. Once you are in, you can't find your way out.... round and round you'll go... on and on. Take overnight things and be prepared to sleep in the middle of a roundabout till dawn!

Have fun Dunc, sorry I can't be there, but I'll be 50 miles away at the re enactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury.

xx Sal

I'll be there, making a detour on my way home from Oxford.

Have taken Ms lemon's advice - accommodation is booked - but as it's in Redditch I might just have a problem finding that as well!. Looks like there are plenty of roundabouts to choose from though. ;-)

We used to visit our Folkie freinds in Redditch and it was always a problem getting the route correct.

So yes Deirdre, plan it properly or you might rue the day.

And if it was a Redditch in France would that B 96?

Don't even mention Red Itches.

Nice to know they are still going anyway.

But did they have genuine lemons at the Battle of Tweeksburg?

Miss Lemon, it was a great evening. None of us got lost (surprisingly) and the music was excellent. Duncan and Anne were joined by Mr Gerry McNeice, doing a fine job adding a bottom line and dancing with his string bass.

(I hadn't seen your post Dunc, I'd already left for Oxford!)

So, tomorrow, it's the full electric band at Brown Cow, Mansfield.

Yippee!

And it looks as tho i'll miss you, Dunc, at FATE as well!

Saturday - 6.30 pm - 8 pm - Silver Marquee (concert slot)

I shall be at the Tesco Childrens' Fest in Cardiff.

Sounds as tho Saturday night was fun. Had a chat to Gerry on myspace IM. Sorry I missed him too. I'll have to give up selling lemonade so that I can catch up with you all!

I'll miss FATE as well but I am seeing the acoustic band the evening before at The Courthouse, Otley, so perhaps he'll forgive me.

It was a fine venue - grand audience (good singers that lot!)
We had a ball...
now...

leccie band at Mansfield FC (Brown Cow) Tues,
acoustic band at Otley Courthouse on Friday
and 'Festival at the Edge' (Much Wenlock) 'solo' on Sat eve

... a good build up to Hardraw, Fri/Sat/Sun, the following week end!

...then the Scottish mini-tour in August...
Busy, busy, busy...

Ta ta - Dunc - look for details here http://www.duncanmcfarlane.co.uk

T'was indeed a damn fine evening. I had a great time so big thanks to Dunx, Anne and everyone else involved.

I got to Priddy at 3:00am and slept in a layby just outside the village (in the van of course). T'was a great day - sunshine, lovely people, great music.

See you on Friday at The Courthouse.

Gerry :-)
