I am not sure exactly where yet but I will find out and post the location for you. I has only started a few months and has very good attendance (and attention) I believe. I intend to go along to it myself in August (I'd better find out where it is myself)It is run by Jim Mac Farland now living back in Derry. Jim, an ex All Ireland champion was living in Dublin for years and was a regular singer at the 'Goilin Singers Club' Should be a good night, might see you there. From: GUEST,jim mac farland hi songster the session is held upstairs in Tinneys Pub, Patrick St.(off Strand Road )and the next session is the 7th Aug.starting 9.30ish till 12.30. The session is a platform for traditional singing (no standard set, only in the listening) Musicians are also very welcome and will be given a "turn" and listened to like everyone else (not back ground music)but the session is mainly for traditional singing. see you there then Jim Mac Farland |

From: GUEST,weerover I'm just back from a couple of weeks in Inishowen and took in a few sessions in Buncrana, which is only about 12 miles from Derry city. The best of them you'll find in O'Flaherty's pub: the legendary Dinny McLaughlin usually takes part in the Wednesday night session at 10:00 and they also have a "breakfast session" on Saturday mornings which is very well attended. weerover |
