The three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Federal Communications Commission "acted arbitrarily and capriciously" in issuing the fine for the fleeting image of nudity. That's okay with me -- but when are they going to arrest Timberlake for assault and battery? And why are we more concerned with nudity than the violence that caused it? |

It was part of the show. She had something covering the nipple on the one side only because it would be exposed. As a libertarian, I agree that the fine was strange, since what we have here is bad taste. If the FCC could fine people for bad taste, half the shows on TV would dissappear. (Er, well, maybe that isn't such a bad idea!) |

" I can tell you for a fact, that this was not rehearsed by MTV and the only plan was between the performers and they did not tell anyone what they were planning. As for the federal appeals court decision, all I can say it - it is about fucking time!!! The FCC has become a dangerous force in this country and their reign of terror needs to be halted. With all the issues facing this country, the attacks on freedom of speech have been largely unnoticed. The FCC created an atmosphere that can only be likened to the McCarthy era. Time to wake up America!!!! |

How anyone claims to know one way or the other about the other boob, beats me. Everything indicates it was staged, with no reason for the network to suspect it was coming. It was stupid, tasteless, it didn't harm or have any real consequences to a living soul, and fining the network for it was idiocy. |

As a Charter Member of the Temple of the Golden Globes, I am always on the lookout for encroachment against such religious freedoms; it's about time those anti-religious freaks at the FCC were thoroughly busted, so to speak. They were getting entirely too top-heavy, especially since they are more involved with wireless systems. A |

21 Jul 08 - 06:38 PM (#2394606) Subject: RE: BS: Court tosses 'wardrobe' fine From: Bill D I think it is beyond funny that ½ second of nipple exposure got this much attention. Last night on a documentary of customs of a tribe in Sudan, I saw prolonged exposure of the breasts of many young women. No one is protesting..... If that silly incident had gotten no press, we'd all be better off. |
