One was drunk, the other drunker. The first one repeatedly came up to us and apologized because his buddy was sitting in the edge of the bathtub shrine, right in front of Mary's statue. We kept saying, 'It doesn't bother us. Don't worry.' Ten minutes later, he'd be back, hanging on us and apologizing. Finally I said gently, 'It's all right. She doesn't care. She understands.' That was the thing that finally calmed him. Twenty minutes later, they left. |
