Tune Req: Theme from 'Ben Hall'

Hi all,

I am trying to find sheet music of a kind for the theme from 'Ben Hall' as performed by The Bushwackers. I believe that it was composed, or at least arranged by Bruce Smeaton. I play whistle, can only half remember the tune and would dearly love to be able to play the rest.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Laura

Don't know if this is it, but John Manifold's "Penguin Book of Australian Folk Songs" (or is it "Ballads"?) has a "Ben Hall" ballad in it.

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of it.

Try a search in folkstream for lyrics & dots

I don't know if this is the one the Bushwackers did. Off to work now so I can't check my books. Later.

As I have said on a different but related thread before, I believe that the theme -tune from Ben Hall ( I LOVED that series , especially Jon Finch's portrayal of Ben ! ) to be an adaptation of a tune called " For Ireland I'll Not Tell Her Name " , or something very similar, as played on the fiddle by my late dear friend Jon Hayward, of Shropshire. Go look it up !!

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately not what I'm looking for, but I appreciate the effort.
