Went to a concert last night that featured Penny Lang (Canada First Lady of Folk)her son Jason Lang, The Echo Hunters and Ladies of the Canyon. Wonderful show by all.
Penny was in great spirits and treated her audience to a very personal two way involvement( Meaning we were as much part of the show due to her interaction with us.). What a great lady.

I'd sure like to see her again...., I heard that she's living in BC

and Jason is a blast... no slouch on the guitar or any instrument he touches..

I was hoping to see you as well Bob.
Ron, Jason is great on the guitar and voice is fine as well. The 4 girls that sang (Ladies of the Canyon) WoW!, what voices.

At the end of the show I had the opportunity to speak to Penny for a minute. At the end of the conversation I said: " By the way, I have something for you". I handed her a c/d of Bruce. You should have see her eyes light up. Her exact words were: " He's done it, fantastic, how much is it". Naturally there was no charge, but she thanked me several times. Bruce, if you read this I think you are going to make a very fine lady very happy.

Thanks, Adrien. I always did like that gal. I hope you said hello from me, too.

I once sent her a telegram at a gig she was doing. The message read, "A warm hand on your opening." The MC whom I knew read it to the audience. I wonder if she's forgiven me for that?

I remember her from years ago singing in Halifax. Nice to see that she's still on the go!

Sandy, are you living close to Lunenburg? Penny and the Echo Hunters will be there September 13th. Kind of far if your in Cape Breton but if your an hour away it would be worth it.
