At intervals in the movie there is a singer who sings narration to move the film along. It sounds as if it might be Ewan MacColl, but I cannot find a singer credit for the movie, nor any mention in MacColl articles. Anybody know if EM did this gig? |

From: curmudgeon I recall one such song done while TJ was in Newgate awaiting execution, and the voice was very much like MacColl's. The concertina, a major part of the film score, was played by Alf Edwards. This is among my all-time favorite films. I actually saw it upwards of eighteen times in movie theaters - Tom |

BTW, your seeing that movie shatters my all time record for seeing a film in a theater--8X for "Black Orpheous, not counting the time I saw a dubbed version which was awful, and I didn't stay till the end. |

I could find nothing on the web that Enoch Kent did this film 9and I must admit I've not heard of him prior too today) but I did learn he's a singer in the style and sound of MacColl.
