BS: I think the economy has rained on Palin

The Dow dropped 500 today while McCain said the economy was sound. Even though he has promised to fix what he helped break, this is the subject changer that the Democrats needed.   McCain's slight lead in the Realclearpolitics average has also stated to drop. I think a lot of people will see this week as pivotal to the election. The future of the country and to a lesser extend of the world, for the next ten years or so, is being decided this week.

We have a right to know all about Palin before election day, so people are starting to dig for information. I think Palin is her own undoing, with or without this terrible economic situation.

The facts about Palin and her general cluelessness may not get through to large numbers of those who are predisposed to be charmed by her. Perhaps the news from Wall Street will prompt people to consider Republican economic policy, and at least temporarily set aside their current obsession with a new-on-the-scene personality.

The bad economic news should, very justifiably, hurt the Republican ticket. This has little or nothing to do with the person recently chosen as the vice-presidential nominee.

It's interesting that many of us (not just the OP ~ I'm sure many others would have said something similar) would tend, today, to personalize the GOP ticket as "Palin." That says a LOT about the temporary success prompted by her asscendancy.

Yes, and if they want continued economic reversals, they'll vote for Obama.

She is also now refusing to speak with special investigators about Troopergate, even though the committee which has sent out 13 subpoenas was comprised of three of her fellow Republicans and two Democrats.

Kendall, I don't like the cost, either, but it may take something this harsh to wake folks up to what has been happening under the GOP watch all of these years.

If the economy hurts the Republicans, it's only fair. Look what they did to the economy.

Amazing no one here even sounds pissed off. There will be time for that I assure you.

You guys say things like "the economy" as if it was some etheral conceptual thing and not real people of flesh and blood stealing your money in God's name!

Was it cute when billionaires gathered at George Bush's campaign dinner and he welcomed them by saying "Tonight we have, the haves ...and the have mores". hahahaha

No cute cartoons about their stupidity, treason and greed.

ITs not cute anymore and you deserve to be pissed off.

I'll show you how to be pissed off.
Can you say "Go To Hell!"
Outraged yet?
I am pissed and I damn the military corporate religious complexs to hell.
Smug staunch Republicans continue to defend this rape of your country.
You really want them to get away with this torture rape murder and theft?
I would like them to know what hell is like.
It is worse than losing a few toys or homes...
It is like your eyes are ripped out and you are charged interest compounded daily only to have them returned 10 years later. By then they will be rotted dried flaps of tissue, and you can only hear your family die slowly of simple painful infections since they you not afford health care.

If there is a special hell that exists beyond the grave, for these Republican criminals it might be like this...
For the rest of their life they will feel non existent, then somehow after they die they will feel as though they do exist, impotent to everything alive.
I curse you so that
Every reversal of truth you ever told will come back to make you the victim of the alledged sexism, elitism, racism and religious fundamentalism.
Then we will gather all your true friends in crime to look into your face of red holes where eyes used to be and promise to help you and let them take whatever you had left inside you that was still human.
Then and only then I would curse you to be reborn and live a life alone.

Or you can donate a billion dollars to mudcat and we will remove the curse.

(whether you're rich or poor, its good to have money)

The editor of Forbes magazine just said this is the worst thing he has ever seen and it is worse than the 1929 situation. So, how can the democrats make it any worse?

Does anyone remember when Senator Gramm of Texas rammed through a bill that stripped away all regulations on Wall st., and McCain went along?
You want someone to blame? CONGRESS for allowing this to pass!

What struck me most in your article about Sarah Palin is how much her governing style resembles that of George W. Bush.

She conducts the business of the state in secret, appoints friends and cronies to positions of power and authority regardless of their credentials, surrounds herself with supporters and refuses to listen to those who disagree with her, and makes decisions based on gut instinct instead of knowledge and thoughtful consideration.

It is helpful to have this glimpse into Ms. Palin's "executive experience," so Americans can see that it is the same management style that brought us the Iraq war, the tragic lack of response to Hurricane Katrina, a decimated Justice Department and an economy in shambles.

Our country cannot afford to have such a leader a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Mary Humstone

To the Editor:

Let's see. Gov. Sarah Palin runs an intensely secretive administration, surrounds herself with unqualified, sycophantic cronies while firing competent subordinates, hides scientific facts from the public when they contradict her policies, believes she's doing God's will, viciously attacks the press when it legitimately questions her decisions, polarizes the electorate and abuses her power to lash out at perceived foes.

Sound familiar?

After the catastrophe of eight years of this kind of leadership, the American people are hurting too much, and are too smart, to let that happen to them again.
