So do I Murray ! Somehow I think I would need to sell the holiday home to buy it !

It sure would be worth going to Cambridge England to see the launch.

How about A clock for the whole Solar System - an Orrey?

Many years ago, I was in a house in the north of Holland (port called Harlingen?) which was, in effect, an orrery - the whole bloody house!

Regards

Thanks, Murray; I've seen photos of the clock and thought it beautiful, but hadn't seen a video of the thing in action. The grasshopper eyes are astounding - what a fine work of art!

Have you ever seen a time gravity wave?

I love it too but.......

Actually, the thing looks more annoying than the Lionel Trains clock with the train madly screeching around the outside of the bezel every hour. I just a simple ass man and cannot appreciate the inner beauty of the movement, although I do enjoy a good bowel movement so all is not lost....or maybe it is if its a really good movement.

I still like it when Mickey points to the 3....................

Spaw

It's a marvelous toy, isn't it?

It went "zip" when it moved and "bop" when it stopped
And "whirr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will.

Now we know! :)

The annoying aspect of it is what makes it fun.

I like things which annoy ...

I even like people who annoy ...

And I simply love Spaw to death ...

Me, too! (I want a clock like that and I LOVE Spaw!)

Thanks, Murray. And, thanks you others for the links to the orrery house! Fascinating and so amazing done so long ago!

"I still like it when Mickey points to the 3"

One day, at The Uni of Qld - oldest Uni in Qld, (known as UQ - the Real University, in response to an advertising campaign for another 'Uni', which called itself the Uni for The Real World!) during O-week, I was walking across the grass in the main quadrangle inside the cloisters, when I realised that someone had 'done' the clock on the main building clock tower!

There was Mickey in all his glory!

Someone had abseiled down the tower in the dead of night, put the poster behind him, and affixed the hands.

Took the ground staff 3 days struggling with cherry pickers, etc...

Truly a prank worth of a 'Real University'!

:-)

You know - there are times in my life when I come face-to-face with the fact that I am just a very simple person; I mean, I can't imagine building that clock in a hundred years with the instructions written out - much less, conceive of the damned thing. However, since I'm not running for vice-president, things should be o.k. along the path I trod. What a grand time keeper the "Corpus" is." Cheers,....mwh

I used to have a Dan Dare watch!
wouldn't mind one of these for my wrist though!
