Yes Dave Burland a rare chance to see in his native Barnsley

A performer of the highest talent spoken in the same circle as Martin Carthy, Nick Jones, Tony Rose and Martin Whyndham- Read

A traditional revivalist and much much more

I put on a folk gig about a year ago with DB as the special guest. A few people who'd seen him several times in daze of yore remarked that he was better than he'd ever been.

A true gent, also.

Cracking night all the Barnsley notables in attendance including Carol and Katherine Roberts and Tony Heald (whose fault it all is!)

Excellent exuberant professional set from Blackbush and Zoe Bottomley a rare young find who should be singing much more

String Theory with "our" Sarah and the Barnsley lads

Thanks to Mr Booker who was his usual self; the audience

Dave Bottomley for organising

Check the website for next Barnsley guests at the Shaw and the Keel Inn

O and I nearly forgot Mr Dave Burland with his mix of traditional and contemporary songs wit and banter and reminiscences of Tony Capstick shows how the years can roll back

Nice one Dave

One of those horrible nights when I had to choose between Dave and Finest Kind. Since FK are Canadian and only over here rarely they won out.

Well done Barnsley and Dave. One of my heroes. Sad we weren't there.

Yes Dave I would have liked to have seen "Finest Kind" too and had an email from Keith Kendrick, but can't be in two places at once!

Nice one at the TSF meeting too!! anyone know a good unemployed chef!
