Knaresborough Blue Stots

I think we struck lucky. Wanting to see Kate Rusby's Christmas show, we chose Nottingham as being the nearest, but it seems to be virtually sold out. So we had another look and found Harrogate. Somewhere we have never been, and a Friday night. We decided to stay the Sat night as well, and did a quick search to see what might be happening. And found Knaresborough Blue Stots on Sat 20th Dec. Have found a bit of infomation about the origins (appears to bear lot of similarities to the East Anglian Molly tradition). Can anybody tell us exactly what happens at this event. Do they go round from pub to pub and will there be an itinerary published? Any information will be welcome, feeling quite excited.

The Clifton Plough Stots used to terrify my great Granny living near York. This would be around 1880. They had apparently lost all contact with any ritual and just went round the village demanding money with menaces, rather like carol singers in the same area today!

I thought demanding money with menaces WAS the ritual.
