From: katlaughing This is mostly for BillD, but I know there are others who are just a worthy of my gratitude for posting links for complete Wastes of Time such as THIS ONE! Really, my grandson and I just had a blast playing all of the games on that site, except for Snake, didn't have the patience to figure it out, but the others are really fun and my grandson kicks butt! So...here's a game thread. Post your favourite forms of |

From: Stilly River Sage There was an online flash version of Tetris here, but it seems to have been removed for a while pending copyright decisions. But there are lots of other games there still. Archived older games also. I hadn't looked at this link in ages--probably just as well! http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/games/ SRS |

14 Oct 08 - 01:17 PM (#2465453) Subject: RE: BS: Oh, thank yew for the time wasters! From: Bee Do you have daughters who might like humourous adventure girl scientist stories set in a steampunk alternate world? I confess I'm addicted to this online comic novel, Girl Genius, which has been running since 2004. The first year or so is black and white, then they moved to full colour. There is very little in the way of sexual innuendo, and what there is is very subtle, no bad language, and a thoroughly positive attitude about girls and boys (and a few other critters, including a vindictive, sarcastic, but loyal talking cat) working together to defeat monsters, fantastic Victorian looking robots, and evil villains. http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20021104 |

From: Pseudolus Does anyone remember a link to a penguin game where you tried to see how far you could make the penguin bounce across the snow. ok, it sounds stupid the way I described it but it was a lot of fun! I'd love to have the link again... :) |

14 Oct 08 - 03:55 PM (#2465612) Subject: RE: BS: Oh, thank yew for the time wasters! From: Bee Welcome, kat! Another thing I like about this particular graphic novel is that there is a broad variety of body shapes - the characters aren't all incredibly thin, in fact the heroine is decidedly robust. |

15 Oct 08 - 07:44 PM (#2466799) Subject: RE: BS: Oh, thank yew for the time wasters! From: katlaughing Geez, I will never get anything done! That quilt one is fun, too, Bee! I'd noticed that about the body shapes, too. Have you read the No.1 Lady Detective novels? I love them, the main character describes herself as a "traditionally built" woman of Botswana and is quite disdainful, in a gentle way, of skinny minnies. Great books. BillD, you'll laugh to hear that every day this week, Morgan has asked me, as soon as we get home from school, if I will play that "old-fashioned" game with him on the computer!**bg** (His term, no one called it that in front of him!) |

15 Oct 08 - 10:50 PM (#2466882) Subject: RE: BS: Oh, thank yew for the time wasters! From: Stilly River Sage I know we have links to the throwing penguin game here at Mudcat. I can't find a link in my favorites, but I may have it saved in my Mudcat threads. I'll look later. Meanwhile, here's a cute one: a drawing program that opens in a new page after you get to the page in this link. I think there's more in the site also, if you poke around. SRS |
