Tech: aol's gone weird on all home computers

I am bumfuzzled. I have a free aol e-mail account, and they recently made some significant changes to the myaol home page (sign in). When I go on line on my Mac or PC Desktop at home now, the address bar starts running through aol addresses and ("error" appears in all of them), and eventually I get a message that the site is having problems or is temporarily unavailable and to try again.

This is not happening from work or when I use my laptop at home. The Mac is plugged directly into the DSL but the PC is wireless. I thought it was something weird with my DSL service when I saw it was happening on both the Desktops, but the laptop should have had the same problem if that were the case.

I tried simply typing in www.aol.com, and the same thing happens. To get to my e-mail, I have to google aol and click on a link for aol webmail, which will then let me sign in to my e-mail account.

Any clues will be most welcome.

Janie

"have to google aol and click on a link for aol webmail"

Try bookmarking that url and going there direct?

Thanks Robin. It did finally occur to me to do that, but I'd still like to fix the problem.

Problem fixed on the Mac. And I'm guessing it will work on the PC also.   I deleted the URL for my home page. Closed Safari, reopened it and reentered the url.

If I weren't so 'puter phobic I would of tried that 2 days ago.

Janie, clear cache/cookies, scan disc, de frag..re mark? I really don't know...but that might help. Could be an old cookie that has disintigrated.
