22 Oct 08 - 09:27 AM (#2472683) Subject: Origins: BBC1 NE/Cum 22nd pm Sunderland Shanties From: Mick Pearce (MCP) I've just had an email in from Jim Mageean telling me that there' s part of the Inside Out programme on BBC1 tonight (7.30pm) devoted to shanties collected in Sunderland in the 1920's by James Madison Carpenter. The Keelers are featured. I've had a look at the Radio Times and it appears that it's only on in the NE/Cumbria regions. I don't know if regional variations are accessible via the iPlayer, but it might be worth checking. Mick |
