Derby Festival

I am going up to Derby this weekend to stay with a freind and apparently there is talk of some sort of festival.

I don't seem to be able to find any reference to it on the internet though. Does anyone know if it actually exists or where I can get more information on what is going on?

Thanks

Francis

Anyone else going?

another local festival without Jack Hudson.....

some people wouldn't recognise tradition if it bit them on the arse.

We're coming in the afternoon to see Pete Morton then heading off up to Gainsborough for the "Eight Jolly Brewers"

Hello all,

Did anyone go to this?

Yes, spent most of Saturday (after giving a stencilling workshop elsewhere) and all of Sunday there.
Was very impressed with Elbow Jane. Caught up with Graham and Eileen Pratt again after 30 long years. The harmony workshop turned into a public performance, which was fun in a sort of masochistic way. There is nothing like learning a song from cold, then having to learn a harmony line to said unfamiliar song, and then performing for others! Cheers Graham!
Nice to catch up with Finest Kind again, and to hear Bob Fox and Stu Luckly in a 30 year time-warp!

Sounds like a busy festival!

Yes I did notice Elbow Jane on the bill, had heard some good things on the old grapevine about them! Must go see them at some point and see what its all about!

I was only able to do the Saturday but had great time, Guest, you really should go and see Elbow Jane they are fab, they're very contemporary so not really for the die hard Trads though.
It was refreshing to see Bob Fox do something different, usually on his solo gigs he just plays guitar so the variety was great, he and Stu were top banana.

Hats of to Mick, Celia and the crew.
