I helped run the sing around clubs and with my friend Roy Martin started the Kempston Folk Club at the Smiths Arms, but never the 'Bedford Club' itself. Saw several biog names at the club, including Cyril Tawney with whom I worked at a concert in Gosport several years, and a lifetime later. I'm looking for photos of those days at the Angel, The Fleur-de-Lys and The Fox and Hounds but will start another thread on that subject. BobH |

He and his wife, Barbara, ran the club for a long time. They live on a narrowboat now moored somewhere around Bedford. Sadly I have lost touch with them but Les Sullivan might now where they are. I think it was at a pub called the Prince of Wales or the PoW fetahers. Is that the same one - I have very fond memories of it. DtG |
