There's a Bowling Ball Under My Prelude..song

One of our esteemed Catters mentioned this occurence earlier today, and something compelled me to start this thread. I don't know why. Maybe God told me to do it. Perhaps he wants a complete song for the heavenly edition of "Rise (a long way)Up Singing". Maybe it was the Australian Beer I drank at the "Tranzac" last night. I won't embarrass the "catter" by giving his/her name,or the thread wherin this appeared. Here it is anyway...damn these compulsions.

OK I'll bite.....

There's a bowling ball under my Prelude, Lying all prone and pink and nude, And lying there a bowling glove, That used to belong to me own true love, Before he shot a perfect game, Bowling on another lane, I couldn't stand to go insane So I ran right over him, Yeah, I ran right over him.

Well it's a start!!!

It's the little voices, isn't it, Rick. They just keep whispering to you, don't they. It's okay, really, you'll be fine!(maniacal laughter heard off stage left)

BTW, I know who the anonymous Prelude driver is!

Prelude, Qualuude
Bowling ball for wheels
Prelude, Hey, Dude!,br> Come see how it feels!

Gonna drive my Prelude
All around the town
Pop another bowling ball
No flat'll bring ya down.

Great start, morning mood
One'll get ya ten pins
Bowling under Preludes
Overture of kith and kin.

In the morning there ya stood
Wondering how it got there
Not awake and in the nude
Thinkin', "What a pair!">br? (Of boys, that is!)

More, maybe, later.......???kat

Is that a Honda Prelude or one that doesn't go forwards, only Bach? (Roger, if you don't stop that, you won't be allowed to watch tv)

PRELUDE TO A KISS, AND VICE-VERSA
(The real story behind the Lyrical Ballads)

(The year, 1798. Sound of daffodils shrieking in the Cumberland wind. Enter Rick Wordsworth and Sister Dorothy, dragging Barcalounger filled with Samuel Taylor Catspaw).

RICK: "I wandered lonely as a seven pin, That ---"
DOROTHY: Doesn't scan, doesn't scan, doesn't scan: Amphimacer Trimeter, brother! That of course is a long, long way from Iambic Pentameter.
(Rick looks up at falling fell, stifling urge to whistle World War I songs up sister's bonnet. Sees gigantic National Trust billboard: "YOU ARE IN THE LAKE DISTRICT: NO BILLBOARDS!" Rick goes back to poetic meditation)
.DOROTHY: Brother, think clouds, daffodils! (Points at daffodils no longer there, having been eaten by groundhogs).
RICK: "I hit the pocket with my locket!" Well, maybe.
STC: (takes big gulp out of Morpho-Cola bottle) "It was an ancient bowling ball, that stoppeth one of three", so I didn't make the spare.
DOROTHY: You are drunk again, Samuel.
RICK: "Bowling Green, Bowling Green, prettiest place I ever seen". Hmmmm.
STC: (Delirious) "And with my gun, I slew the Katherine Ross." (sound of "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" in 1798 Dolby analog. In distance, Pinkerton men can be seen approaching on horseback.)
RICK: "Lake Windermere was shining like a National Trust guitar". No, drat.
STC: (Even more delirious) "And with my mouth, I blew the assum's poss."
DOROTHY: Who are those guys? (Pinkerton men come closer, bearing uncanny resemblance to Reg and Reg,).
STC: (Raises himself to precarious perch on Barcalounger) Beloved Dorothy, sister to best of chums, I have a confession to make. It is you I worship from afar, and up close if I can.
RICK: (Plucks strings from 12 string Takamine) "She loves me, she loves me not, she loves me, she loves me not". (Hurls guitar at distant sheep, bearing a strong resemblance to a cross between Mark and Shania Twain). Damn 9 string guitars anyway!
DOROTHY: Explain yourself, STC!
STC: What do a bowling ball, an assum's poss ocarina, and your backside have in common? Answer: smooth roundness, and finger holes!!!
RICK(noodling as ever): ""From little Ochs do mighty Fieldings grow". No. drat."
DOROTHY (in a huff). " That's it, I am leaving. I have had it with men! (sheep on hillside perks up). Women, here I come. (sheep perks back down again)
RICK: " Sister dear, is this the prelude to some rash act?"
DOROTHY: "Beloved brother, go kiss -- Your bowling ball is under your Prelude."
(Two Pinkerton men arrive. In cloud of dust, Reg and Reg twirl mustaches, which fall off, revealing Folkfyre girls.)
DOROTHY: "Ladies, just in time!" (Folkfyre girls and Dorothy get into Huff, drive off into the sunset together. Night falls. Fell falls. Niagara Falls. Slowly I turn, step by step.)
STC: "Though nothing can bring back the splendour of her --"
RICK: Oh, shut up.
STC: "In Xanadu did Newton-John" --
RICK: "Why did I ever start this thread? Fair seedtime had my soul, and....wait a minute!!!!"
THE END
Yours, Peter T.

Peter T. When I first saw a posting from you, I knew you were "bright". When I first met you I knew you were "complex". When they sent you to South America to save it, I knew you were "important". When you made it back safely, I knew you were "resourceful". Now that I've read your literary efforts, I realize that in a past life YOU wrote the plays of Shakespeare. I just pray I'm not too in awe of you to kick ass with those bass runs (and proper G chords)

Peter T that was truly an inspiration to us all. To think that when I have time to waste I play games on the pewter or sleep when I could be attempting to waste my limited intellect on such noble pursuits such as yours. Bravo, like the rest, I stand in awe....Actually I'm sitting in a chair, but "standing in awe" always struck me as such a noble phrase!

Catspaw -- that is hilarious and grievously true!! (it also helps having a day off to waste too!)
Yours, Peter T. (afflicted with a bad case of the bass runs).

You're not out of the loop Rick, you are just showing what a healthy and fine upbringing you've had. I had one of those myself...then I found Lenny Bruce and others like King Richard---------Laughing My Fuckin' Ass Off.

Peter T., I touch your feet with my forehead three times, oh most worthy. You are truly a man of wasted intellect who has spent far too much time in the sun without a hat. I must check now, I believe I have soiled myself. Dave
