Lyr Req: Jimmy on the Chute

I have a lyric dating from 1893 in Australia, attributed as a modification to "Johnny on the Chute". It could well be that "chute" should be "shoot" or similar.

It could also refer to a laborer who handled a chute (like to fill a steam engine coal hopper", or a grain chute on a wheat silo, or similar.

Any help with tracing down similar lyrics would assist me - thanks.

Can you post what you have, please?

Wow - that was quick - thanks (I'm a newbie).

Think I've found it. It's called "Jimmy on the Chute".

"A Gaiety Girl" - a British musical comedy - opened in London in 1893.

Hi, Lumbago-
You'll find full sheet music for "Jimmy on the Chute" here (click) at the Levy Sheet Music Collection - for free. I hope somebody has time to transcribe "Jimmy" sooner or later. I gotta do chores.
Could we ask you to post the other song that's related to "Jimmy"?
Thanks.

JIMMY ON THE CHUTE!
Words and music by Harry Greenbank.
New York: T. B. Harms & Co., 1894.

1. Little Jimmy was a scholar, and his aptitude was such,
That his parents and preceptors were afraid he'd know too much;
So his grandmama said, "Bless him! I will take him up to town,
And we'll go to Captain Boynton's, and they'll water-chute us down!"

CHORUS: Oh! Jimmy on the chute, boys; won't we have a day
Going out with Grandma? Granny's getting gay!
Down in half a slap-bang, wet from top to toe,
That's the way they chute 'em at the "water-show!"

2. Now when Jimmy saw that water-chute, he laughed until he cried,
Just to see the girls yell out and grab the fellows by their side;
And he said to gentle Grandma, "This will suit me to a 'T',
When I get up there and have those girls a-grabbing hold of me!"

3. Then he took his seat with Grandma, and they started off all right,
But a pretty girl beside him scream'd, "You better hold on tight!"
They were flying down so fast that Jimmy's head began to swim,
So he clawed onto the pretty girl and she clawed onto him!

4. But the splash was so terrific that his heart began to quake,
As his grandma turned a somersault and fell into the lake;
So he held onto the pretty girl and hugg'd her tighter still,
For he thought the world was ended and he hadn't made his will!

5. With a boat-hook, poor old Grandmama was fished up, safe and sound,
But the pretty girl and Jimmy in a close embrace were found.
In their terrible alarm, they wouldn't hear of letting go,
And they're hugging one another still, for anything I know!
