As I understand it, the election of Barack Obama has created panic buying of gin as one of his election promises was to ban gin-drinking while shooting gins and eventually ban gin.
It's a fact. I read it on the internet right here.

My favorite- the TRAVIS McGEE

Fill glass with cracked ice.
Add Tio Pepe dry sherry. Shake.
Pour sherry down the drain.
Fill with Bombay Sapphire.
Sip slowly and enjoy!

You know, it's amazing to me that the high cost of living hasn't had much of an effect on its popularity!

I'll stick with Tanqueray. Frankly, the color of Bombay Sapphire turns me off. I never drink anything that's the same color as Windex.

I overheard a conversation the other day, two stock market fellows were talking, that there could possibly be a world-wide supply problem with juniper berries. And, it could result in higher prices/reduced supplies of Gin. The speculation is, it could result in Gin hording. Or, was it really a gin influenced dream I had? Anyway, one could always revert back to the "somewhat repulsive", but just as intoxicating, Juniper-free Geneva Gin.

The t-shirt I want to get printed?   "Nearer My Gin To Thee..."

Well if we don't drink it they'll stop selling it!!!

A Drink With Something In It

There is something about a Martini,
A tingle remarkably pleasant;
A yellow, a mellow Martini;
I wish I had one at present.
There is something about a Martini,
Ere the dining and dancing begin,
And to tell you the truth,
It is not the vermouth--
I think that perhaps it's the gin.

I'm restocking my gin cupboard too. Got a couple of bottles of Hendricks and a bottle of Tanqueray. I think gin sales slowed down a bit when I was pregnant!
