I heard this song on the radio and it got stuck in my head. It's kind of stupid pop tune, but i wanna find out who sings it.

Hi,

Patrick (?) Hernandez..... and it's meant to be Born to be alive..... but he does pronounce it funny. It was a hit in the 80's I think.

Yes, it was 'Born to be alive' by Patrick Hernandez (France) but was a hit in 1979, not the 80's.

Cheers
Carl

Isn't it great to know that someone is trawling through the old threads. ;-)

"We were born to be alive
We were born to be alive

Born, born to be alive
(Won't you be alive)
You see you were born
Born, born
(Born to be alive)

People ask me why
I never find a place to stop
And settle down, down, down
But I never wanted all those things
People need to justify
Their lives, lives, lives

You see you were
Born, born, born to be alive
(Born to be alive)
You see you were
Born, born, born
(Born to be alive)
It's good to be alive
To be alive
To be alive

It's good to be alive
To be alive
To be alive

It's good to be alive

Time was on my side
When I was running down the street
It was so fine, fine, fine
A suitcase and an old guitar
And something new to occupy
My mind, mind, mind

You see you were born, born
Born to be alive
(Born to be alive)
You see you were born, born, born
(Born to be alive)
You see you were born, born
Born to be alive
(Born to be alive)
You see you were born, born, born
(Born to be alive)
You see you were born, born
Born to be alive
(Born to be alive)
You see you were born, born, born
(To be alive)
Born, born to be alive
(Born to be alive)
You see you were born, born, born
(Born to be alive)
Born, born to be alive"

I can't locate the author. (I'd guess no one wants to own up.)

After hearing lyrics like that, a friend asked rhetorically, "Why do I work so hard finding words that make sense?!"

Somebody wrote it on a bet, right?

Oh, to have the beer that went into those lyrics.

On YouTube.
I forgot this song. I can handle a bit of techno, but this had me thinking about flyswatters.

I think "bored..." might have been more interesting. Hey, we could do our own YouTuberosity. Somebody write the lyrics, then we'll get the band together. A kazoo 'big band' section kind of thing, with percussion on folding chairs and cardboard boxes and maybe some step dancers (they'd really add to the video), a musical saw player and about 50 shaky eggs.

I think we could go viral real fast. A video might be popular as well.

I want to hear the techno version, too.
I heard it yesterday in a train, someone played it with his/her handy
and remembered the song.
I can't say if this version is the right one, because youtube writes in the video display "An error occured, please try again later"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKP-k3NvpHk

Yes it's really mad, that I know (such) a song in former times, and then that it's so hard to find it, just because it's a techno remix or because it has no lyrics.
But I'm happy to be able to say that I have found every song I wanted to, no matter if normally it's impossible to find it.

Hello,

I asked my wife who sang it and she said 'Boney M' and I also found a boney M version, which sound the same.

Who was the original artist?

Thank
