Miri dance in Shrewsbury. Fri 21st Nov

I'm calling for a ceilidh at the Auction centre Battlefield.
Fri 21st Nov 8 - 12
£12 in aid of Greek Animal Welfare Fund, Equine project.
2 course supper.

I have a phone no. for tickets, if you pm me (numbers are limited and caterers need to know how many)

Marilyn's band are playing under their new name Halfe Pannikin, you may have heard them in Cheshire or Shropshire folk clubs under their old name Miri It Is.

I'm sure they will have swept up after the horse sales.
Since there is a double horsey connection I'm thinking of all the horse dances I know - ideas please.

What, no ideas for horsey dances?

Mo mentioned above that this Barn Dance / Ceilidh is to raise funds for the Greek Animal Welfare Fund, Equine Project.

Joan, the fiddler in our band, is an equine dental technician (horse dentist to you and me) and an experienced veterinary nurse. She is very involved in the GAWF charity and travels over to Greece several times a year to work over there with her friend Janet, the vet (who is organising this fund raising dance) and other vets and farriers.

GAWF treats over 1000 animals a year in Greece and runs 2 seminars each year to train local people in veterinary medicine, farriery, equine dentistry etc. It's about helping people to help themselves as much as giving practical, much needed help on the spot.

It's a really worthwhile charity which is celebrating it's 50th anniversary next year; the equine project has now been running for 10 years. Like all charities it needs funds to keep it running and the ceilidh next Friday is an important fund-raising event.
Our band is donating our fee to help do our bit.

If you live near Shrewsbury and would like a good night out and help a worthwhile charity at the same time please PM me or Mo the Caller for info about where to order tickets.

If you do decide to come don't forget to say hello - I'm the melodeon player in the band.

Marilyn

If you are thinking of coming to this ceilidh / barn dance on Friday please let us know because we need to let the caterers have numbers.

It would be lovely to have a good turn-out and raise lots of dosh to help the donkeys - if you're hesitating, please come!

Last minute reminder - it's tonight! Not too late to book your tickets, there are still a few left.

A good night out, English Ceilidh dancing, good music and a good two-course supper.

AND all the proceeds go to paying for treatment for poor donkeys and mules that desperately need help. What more could anyone ask?!
