17 Jun 99 - 09:37 PM (#87540) Subject: Camsco Music Site From: Banjer I checked out the Camsco Music site and have a question. How do those folks know that the purchase is being made on behalf of the Mudcat? Do we have to make apoint to tell them and if so how do we know that any part of what we spend with them goes where it's supposed to? Call me cynical...but......? |
17 Jun 99 - 10:24 PM (#87549) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Wally Macnow Max, Dick and I have been talking about this for quite a while now and have an agreement in place which we hope will be quite supportive of the Mudcat. Max is working on designing an online purchasing website. When that's complete, the Mudcat will be able to track all sales. Until that time, which we hope will be shortly, customers who say that they came to us from here, will have a percentage of the merchandise sale price go to the Digital Tradition. My main purpose in establishing Camsco Music in 1995 was to help perpetuate traditional music. If you visit the site, you'll find that that's the music that we carry. While there are many organizations we would like to support, the Digital Tradition ranks with the most deserving. Camsco is essentially a one person organization and, cynical though you may be, I don't renege on my commitments. There are a number of folks here who have bought recordings and books from Camsco. I believe I treated them all as well and honestly as I could. Wally Macnow Camsco Music |
17 Jun 99 - 10:37 PM (#87552) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Jeri I'll be the first to vouch for Wally and Camsco. I've bought books and recordings from him, and I had the pleasure of meeting him last month. I got the impression he loves the music at least as much as anyone else I know, and he knows an awful lot about it as well. |
17 Jun 99 - 11:28 PM (#87563) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Sandy Paton I'll be the second to endorse Wally's Camsco Music. He's not only knowledgeable, he can sing up a storm, too. I can assure you that any Mudcatter buying from him can be certain that the agreed-on percentage will be sent to Max. Besides, where else can you find all of the great stuff he offers? Sandy |

18 Jun 99 - 01:20 AM (#87585) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Art Thieme Good people, Wally is a grand fellow. It's great to be in touch with him through this cyberworld we're a part of. And Jerry Epstein, the fellow who first sang "Master Of The Sheepfold" for me at New York Pinewoods Folk Camp, has his version of the song there at Camsco. Who's in that group, Wally? Is it Jerry & Jeff Warner & David Jones? That's how I remember it. They do wonderful stuff. Art Thieme |
18 Jun 99 - 01:55 AM (#87588) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Sandy Paton You don't need a blue clicky thing; just click on Wally's logo at the top of the forum page, and go exploring. Sandy |

18 Jun 99 - 09:20 AM (#87649) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Wally Macnow Art, Jerry's "Time Has Made A Change In Me" is just Jerry and Jeff Davis. It's been one of my favorites since it came out. Just a wonderful song collection. Thank you and Jeri and Sandy for your kind comments. Wally |
18 Jun 99 - 10:33 AM (#87665) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: karen k I join Sandy, Jeri and Art in totally endorsing Wally and Camsco Music. Wouldn't you endorse a guy who's on a Folk Legacy album? Check out Sharon Mountain Harmony. Wally sang with Rock Creek. karen k |
18 Jun 99 - 03:04 PM (#87728) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Wolfgang Wally, a question: I have found a few songbooks between the recordings. Is there a way to get all the songbooks on one page? Wolfgang |
18 Jun 99 - 03:23 PM (#87736) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Wally Macnow Wolfgang Yes. I will try to add a book page over the weekend. I carry a very few new books (notably The Copper Family books) but often have used music books. Wally |

14 Jul 99 - 10:04 PM (#95263) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Joe Offer Say, Wally, inside the "O" at the end of the Camsco logo, there's a picture of something-or-other, but I can't make out what it is. I think it's The Spectre of Greenhaus or something like that, but I just can't quite figure it out. What is it? -Joe Offer- Support the Mudcat by Buying Camsco Music

17 Jul 99 - 05:55 AM (#96140) Subject: RE: Camsco Music Site From: Wally Macnow Hi Joe, I dunno. The logo didn't start out that way but maybe I could use it for something promotional like "the ghost of Robert Johnson".
