The concert is not quite sold out, about 20 seats left last night. Please do support if you can - you never know when you may need a lifeboat! Tom Someone called this my 'Maritime Multimedia Multi-instrumental, Mumming, Murmering and Music show" - oh yes, I remember, it was me! Date: 29 11 08 Event: RNLI Benefit: "Tales of Time and Tide" Venue: Main Hall, Town Hall, Richmond "Tom Bliss is a musical Peter Ustinov!" "Astonishlngly moving and inspirational" Joe Grint, Tykes News Tom specialises in story-songs based on real events (from the Middle Ages to just last year) - some gripping, some very funny, and some simply heartrending. This 'natural-born raconteur' has developed his song-intros into a unique style of reportage, which is as much part of the show as the songs themselves, with 'magic lantern' slides and short documentary clips to bring the songs' back-stories vividly to life. But the screen always goes dark for the music - because Tom's poetic lyrics paint pictures in the mind's eye that no camera could ever capture.. Tom plays guitar, mandola, mandocello, dulcimer, concertina and whistle during the show. "Never have I heard tales told and sung with such humour and skill. A spellbinding couple of hours." Terry Ferdinand - Bishop FM NB: This is not a pantomime or specifically a kids show, though older children are welcome. Tickets: 01748 850808 Tom dressed like a pirate and stuff |
