The book has been available for several months of course, so apologies for the hiatus are in order. But we did run into more than a few problems. The programme is being broadcast at 21.05 hrs, Thursday December 4th, as part of Radio Merseyside's Folk Scene programme. It will be available for 7 days afterwards on http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool/local_radio/index.shtml . |

What I should have said was we saw Peter Cox talking about the Radio Ballads at Shrewsbury Festival It was excellent I urge anybody - folky or otherwise to go. Cheers Les |

21 Sep 15 - 07:15 PM (#3738928) Subject: RE: Radio Ballads Feature Radio mersyside From: Richard Mellish Most frustrating. There seems to be a little bit missing at the beginning and the end is definitely missing. Cox explains that he's going to play two extracts from Travelling People, the second to allow listeners to recover from the first, which was the last 45 seconds of that Radio Ballad. That extract is indeed frightening. But then the archive.org copy stops before the second extract. So we miss the recovery. |
