From: GUEST,po cho cherry we lost four music venues this past year: YMCA (for high school) Classic Cigar Parlor (upstairs lounge, all ages) Main Street Baptist Church (basement, hardcore) Siren Records (music store) all we have left is upstairs "ballroom" of a private club and some bar play some sidewalk musicianship is allowed this town had a serious music scene for years that generated many bands, some more successful then others. other arts were also generated such as art, film, poetry and high street style. The town borough closed all venues above mentioned due to fire code regulations or security issues. All above venues were closed in the space of a few months. soon to come to a town near you. |

The Bucks County Folk Song Society meets in Wrightstown monthly on first Sundays. And there has been talk at the BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship about a multicultural concert series. (I have inside information on that one!) Dan |

From: M.Ted If you need a nice sized concert venue, may I suggest, of all places, the Salford Township fire hall up the road in Tylersport--on 563, just the other side of Allentown Rd. There are lots of little towns around there, many unincorporated, so that there are no borough fire codes--anyway, parking in Doylestown is nearly impossible, so you might do a lot better somewhere else. |
