Check out this Illinois-based duo on Utube. Here is a sample of the best two songs written recently here

I love these folks!!! I've watched this duo go from good to great to WOW over the years. Since I usually got to see them once a year, the intensification of their skill and range was very evident. In a city known for singer-songwriters of skill, their originals hold up well as does their interpretations of a HUGE range of covers. From Ewan McColl's Terror Time to The Berryman's delightfully goofy Double Yodel (which I had the chance to hear them do during their debut at Kerville nearly a decade ago) to western swing, they pull it all off as if each style were the only thing they do.

If you have a chance to see them in person, DO! If you can't, well, make do with U Tube & then buy some of their albums!

Very reminiscent of the Berrymans. Beautifully synchronized. Thanks for the link!

Their best song is "1,000 Candles, 1,000 Cranes" about the Hiroshima bombing. It brings tears to peoples eyes.

I guess we in Central NY are ahead of the curve...
The Spud people are great favorites here in Ithaca,
where they appear at least once a year on the Bound for Glory
live concert radio show. In fact, one of their recent CDs is
basically a BFG show - three 30 minute live sets with their great
chat and songs. Very warm and engaging people.

I got to meet them when they played in Butte, MT about 10 years ago. Absolutely wonderful!
