I'd never seen some of those Klimts before so it was a fascinating tour (I made liberal use of the Pause button). It makes me want to search out more - Cheers for the heads-up. |

22 Dec 08 - 10:20 PM (#2522674) Subject: RE: Review: The Art of Gustav Klimt & Edvard Munch From: Ross Campbell The Tate Liverpool ran a Klimt exhibition during June and July 2008 as part of its City of Culture programme. Absolutely brilliant, with a recreation of the Beethoven frieze, and much background material including room settings and architetural models from other members of the Vienna Secession. I thought I was familiar with Klimt's figure work, but the landscapes (some of which are huge) were something else. (I liked the music too - must check out that Vangelis) Ross |

24 Dec 08 - 12:45 AM (#2523543) Subject: RE: Review: The Art of Gustav Klimt & Edvard Munch From: Ross Campbell I thought some of the clips in the video might have been by Munch - he's not mentioned in the accompanying text, which is a bit odd. Both video and text are duplicated on the NME Music Video site, no further info there. Ross |
24 Dec 08 - 04:18 AM (#2523610) Subject: RE: Review: The Art of Gustav Klimt & Edvard Munch From: Bonnie Shaljean Don't think Munch made it, in spite of the You Tube heading - if you look at the comments in the feedback column about four entries down, you'll see "Where's Edvard Munch" being asked there too. But the Klimts on their own are well worth the tour. |

25 Dec 08 - 04:40 PM (#2524564) Subject: RE: Review: The Art of Gustav Klimt & Edvard Munch From: McGrath of Harlow A couple of the pictures do look as if they might be Munch. But then a couple look like they might be Toulouse Lautrec, but aren't. As Ubncle Dave said there "the wide range of styles ". I think his landscapes are the best stuff Klimt did. |
