Does anyone know anything about a luthier from Georgia (USA) named Bill Jones? Someone I know of is trying to track him down, but can't find any reference to him on the internet.

Both of the Bills in the links are from places other than Georgia, so I'm guessing it's not either one of them. Thanks, though.

DAG's website reports:

"AG welcomes luthier William Jeffrey Jones to the collective. We offer this expo page as an introduction to Jones' work. Additionally, for complete specs and prices visit the full DAG William Jeffrey Jones section.

For every finished guitar in his shop, Jones has a handful of other variations in development. This is what he's always done his whole life, even since he was a child, filling his Big Chief tablets with hundreds of designs of cars, airplanes, helicopters, houses... you name it. It amazes even Jones that as a 7-year old, he was methodically doing exactly as he does now. Except... now, he gets to work with pointy stuff.

Throughout his career as a commercial sculptor, Jones produced some of the most recognized and collectible action figures on the market, a good number of which were sculpted during his years as a staff sculptor for McFarlane Toys. His specialty has always been female figures, but the industry also relied upon his realism and clean detail to produce exacting replicas of sports figures and television, movie, and gaming characters, a list of which is quite extensive.

Jones Custom
William Jeffrey Jones Guitars evolved purely as the means to express the personal creative concepts and skills of acclaimed commercial sculptor, Jeffrey Jones. A working artist for over 25 years, Jeffrey has also been a guitarist for over 30. His woodworking experience from a very early age actually influenced his decisions to become a professional sculptor, so from there, building guitars was a simple extension of logic, driven by passion, experience, and the lifelong commitment to creative endeavor. Now, his sculpted guitars are the direct product of that passion and experience fueling itself to spawn an ever evolving and exhilarating body of work.

His guitars are elegantly organic and deliciously curvacious. Those curves and soft contours present an instrument so comfortable and familiar that it almost immediately becomes an extension of the player. Some contours are so subtle that the player may not even consciously recognize that they exist, but the experience of playing the instrument will almost certainly be affected."

That's great stuff, and I certainly appreciate it. I don't think that's the right person, though. I found William Jeffrey Jones' telephone number and it has a Raleigh, North Carolina area code. Also, the guitar that this is in reference to is an acoustic, and William Jeffrey Jones seems to only make electrics.
