Well, I figurated that it's time to grow up so here's a list of my Reolutions for '09:

1. First of all, I will get a smell-check program so that thsoe little typo thingies will go away and I will be like everybody else...

2. I won't do any thin-ice threads, you know, like Kendall haviong sex with whales... Might of fact, I would like to take this opportunity to state that, as far as I know, Kendall did not have sex with that whale... And if he didm hey, it's his business...

3. I won't drive in the passing lane unless I'm paassing, which is rare....

4. I won't refer to any of the three knotheads her in Mudville as knotheads... Okay, this one might be tough but I'll try...

5. I won't ask womenz questions unless I have put in alot of thought before resorting to havin' to ask 'um.... You, know like, ahhhhhh, why womenz think they is allways right???

6. I won't drenk alone unless I'm by myself... Thank you, George Thorgood fir that little resolution...

7. Here is the biggie... I won't say nuthin' bad about George Bush after Jan.20th unless, of course, the Martians invade and the "Three Knotheads" blame it all on Bill Clinton...

8. Speakin' of knotheads, I won't say nuthin' bad about DougR... Unless he says something bad about me first....

9. I won't start no gun control threads seein' as they always end up the same way before droppin' off the bottom of the BS section...

and lastly...

10. I won't smoke no dope that I can't kept lit... If it's wet then...

...screw it...

Yeah, that 'bout rounds out my resolutions fir '09 and I'm sure that by '10 I'll be all growed up and won't need no more resolutions...

Bobert

Well, Bobert, I thought and thought and thought and figgered that well, hell, why bother? I'd either break 'em or they wouldn't be needed and since I'm already perfect they ain't needed anyway.

But will the erstwhile knotheads pass the smell-check test, Bobert? It is iffy.

Well 5 years ago I made my first resolution and have kept it. I quit smoking. I got looped the night before and smoked like a train. Next morning I had 2 cigarettes left in my pack. I hate the taste or smell of smoke in the morning. I smoked the last two than slapped a patch on my arm. I continued with the patch thing for two weeks then threw the rest away. I have no plans for any more resloutions.

I have, dude-- I worked in Toronto for about a year back in the 70's. Didn't like it. (:D)

I'd love to come up, if I can squeeze it in. I still work for a living.

When is it?

Hey, dammit!. Who you callin' a nothed. I wooda thunk all the crap I put up with from that dammed monkey while trying to get you presidentified wooda earned me better respeck.
Maybe it's just the nature of pol-erticks.
I made some resolutions for myself:
1 Invent a self-roasting turkey...cooks itself right in the shopping bag!
2 return some of the money I took from that church poor-box.
3 stop dressin up like those guys in "300" unless appropriate to the event.
4 Make fewer nasty remarks about Morris dancers. Banjo, bagpipers, accordianers too; but mostly Morris dancers.
5 Neither a lender be, but I'll still borrow.

8...I got nothin

it's brave to make a resolution, especially one that may be difficult to keep. So here goes:

1. I resolve to be supportive, admiring even, of those who make resolutions, and to strongly consider making a resolution myself, when I feel ready to keep it.

I donno, Beer??? I don't speak no Canadian an' my passport is expired...

But seriously, for the forseeable future, I am screwed... Ya' see, I have two wives... The P-Vine and the ol' Laurance Hotel... Now if it were just up to the P-Vine it would be one thing but ti ain't... Ya' see, I gotta be at the Laurance 5 days a week until the renovation is complete... Seems that everyday there are lots of decisions that need to be made an' I can't afford to pay my crew to stay home for a week while I go play music... Maybe the summer of 2010 but not this one...

Yeah, I donno what possessed me to think I should buy a 200 years old hotel to renovate... I mean, what was I thinkin'??? But I know my first resolution for next New Year's will be, "I will not take on any big projects"....

Now if ya'll wanted to send me a airplane ticket to play yer festival, I might be able to do that...

Not speaking the Canadian would be a major problem and the airplane thing is out as well as I can't afford the Petro for my private jet. So maybe 2010 will be better.

Like Rapaire, I made no resolutions as I, too, am perfect and love myself as I am. Oh wait, I resolve to go to Apple Hollow Festival again this year, Adrien! (Be the good lord willing and the creeks don't rise!)

Say...why not have a festival at the Laurence Hotel in Luray, Virginia? We could all play and sing while we watch Bobert work and a night we could all go to his place to drink his Iron City (shudder!), eat him outa house and home, and mess up his garden and stuff.

We could call it either "Luraystock" or "Bobert's Stock" (I prefer the latter since that's what we'd use up).

Kinda like Woodstock I, only different.

Rapaire, I love your thinking.
We would have a place to sleep. Bobert probably wouldn't have all the beds in but hay a sleeping bag would do. The ladies could wear flowered dresses and we could all dig out our head bands and peace signs.
What a terrific idea. Not on the weekend of July 17/18 as that is festival time up here.

Hey, Bobert--does that there hotel operate yet? I am thinking of a family reunion in a couple of years, mebber I could get about twenty folks to descend on it....we'd need a few rooms, some food, some booze, and freedom to holler a bit.

Nah, Amos, it ain't in operation... Might of fact, it ain't never gonna be no hotel again.... It's gonna be 8 apartments and 4 or five retail shops... Now if you'd like to rent an apartment then we can do that...

As fir Bobertstock??? Well, yeag, we could have it haer on the farm if folks didn't mind takin' their tents back in the woods and camp out... The pond ain't up fir no skinny dippin' 'cause it's real shallow... Like 2 to 3 feet deep at the deepest...
