BS: Changed my Mudcat name

This is CarolC. I can't log in, and I've cleared my cookie cache and everything. I probably should have changed my screen name a long time ago anyway, so I've gone ahead and joined up under my first name and my current last initial. It seems fitting.

"Current last initial" - are you looking to change it again? Does the current Mr (or Mrs, I suppose) "D" know?

:)

Don't worry, it's probably covert action by Mossad.

As far as I can read, more than a few change their name when it suits them !

After I got hitched to Mr. the Sailor, my last initial changed from C to D.

I have to admit that I'd grown quite attached to CarolC as a screen name. We've been through quite a lot together. But it kind of doesn't make any sense for me to have C in my screen name any longer. And I've discovered that I can't log in on one of our other computers as well, so I don't think it's a simple problem.

So is this added a mate or removed a mate, inquiring minds want to know.

If I understand the question correctly, a mate was added back in 2002, when my last initial was changed from C to D. It's taken more than six years for my Mudcat name to reflect that change. LOL

That's my luck. Always late. That's OK, I can still flirt, right?

Oops. Now I feel silly. I've figured out the problem. The password that I was sure I've had for the last nine years turned out to be not exactly the same as I thought I remembered. Now I don't know what to do. Ah... decisions, decisions.

As has been stated in the FAQ and many, many times in the Forum - if you have membership problems, ask for help. The problem is most likely on your computer. You may go to membership and change the name on your existing membership if you have a valid reason, but please do not open another membership.
Thank you.

I am going to jump in here in support of my podnuh Mr. Offer. Multiple memberships are not allowed. Also, Carol, your immediate assumption that someone deleted your membership is very troubling. After all that has transpired, that we have allowed, why would we now delete a membership? And if that drastic measure were to happen, it is usually done when we find someone using multiple identities, or who has created a new ID when they had a problem. Multiple identities constitute a violation of our rules, and will not be tolerated. Joe typically takes care of this, but if I find it, I would do exactly the same thing. Creating a new handle should only be done if you have consulted with Joe, or if he happens to not be available, then me. We are always willing to assist when asked.

In the future you might try to not assume the worst, and further, not to make such allegations.
