10 Jan 09 - 02:40 PM (#2537308) Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Merlin's Song (Graham Pratt) From: Jim Dixon In this instance, you would have found it if you had used the Discussion Forum Enhanced Search and then put "merlin's song" in the box called "Subject". This filters the subject line of each message, not the thread title. The thread title in this case is "King Arthur needs your help"—which isn't very helpful for anyone searching for the song. At least someone had the foresight to give the message an appropriate title, that is, "subject". I'm guessing Joe or one of the JoeClones did this, since very few people use the subject line at all. Usually they just accept the default value which is "RE:" followed by the thread title. When it's used this way, the subject line serves a very useful purpose: to identify the song, especially when the song title is different from the thread title. (I plan to post some version of this message in the "Search function help" thread. More people ought to know about this.) |

I don't know why you didn't find it, VirginiaTam. On second thought, I'm not going to give any more advice until I know what's going on! |
