UK Concert - Greenwich Village Origins

I see that there is a series of three concerts this month at the Barbican Theatre in London that tie in with a BBC TV series. One of the concerts is supposedly about the Greenwich Village Scene in New York. Looking at the line up I am puzzled and most amazed that two people that were involved in that scene and who currently live in London are not on the bill. Namely Tom Paley founder member of the New Lost City Ramblers and one time partner of Woody Guthrie and Joe Locker contemporary of Eric Weissberg, Marshall Brickman, Roger Sprung, etc etc. Who researched the artists for these concerts? probably the same people who believe "Seasick Steve" to be a blues man. There are still a very)few genuine bluesmen around just as there are genuine Greenwich Village pickers.

If the same research team were involved for the TV series I feel we are going to be presented with second or third rate shows once again.

Incidentally I see that the UK's "favourite" folk authority is being wheeled out yet again someone called Billy Bragg ho ho. Is there really no one around that could do a better more knowledgeable job?
