Old-Time musicians in UK Feb 10-23

Geff & I will be in the UK Feb 10-23.
Other than Gainsborough, any suggestions of sessions, folk clubs, etc? We'll be mostly around Kent, London, Bath, Cotswolds, & we like driving. We play old-time fiddle, banjo, guitar, uke, etc., sing the occasionally amusing songs, call dances, &, when my back isn't messed up, I clog.

I know there are a few Mudcatters out there who know us - I used to live in Bath from around '82-96, and Chicago before that. I've played at Moles club, Eastbourne Folk fest, Cheddar, Priddy, etc, and Geff used to be a regular at the London Singer's Club in '83-'84. It would be fun to do a floor spot or two while we're over there, but we'd also just like to get together with friendly folks and play some tunes.

What sessions / folk clubs / etc are happening during that time? Any suggestions are welcome!

This thread may be of interest.

(Feb 18 - March 8: Debby McClatchy will be touring with "Appalachian Magic" (formerly the Mountain Music Gathering), including other musicians, Pete and Ellen Vigour, Arnie Naiman, and Dick Harrington.)

I'll be at a few of the North-West gigs. They don't seem to be heading south till after you're gone - unless you can stretch your trip?

All the best

Thanks for the link, it would be fun, but I doubt we'll get up that far north. Debby lives pretty near us in Northern California, we've driven up to jam with her a couple of times, and we'll hopefully be seeing Pete & Ellen at Clifftop again this year.

We're not looking just for old-time music, it's what we mostly play, but we'd love to catch some local folk clubs & Irish sessions & pretty much any live traditional music.

I saw there's some kind of session at the Dog & Fox in Bradford-on-Avon. Does anyone know if there's anything else going on in or near Bath?

Kate Lissauer is resident in Bath, works with a group called "Buffalo Gals". There's a gig-list and contact page on the website. She and her partner were running an excellent pub in Bath a couple of years ago (may have moved on since) where music events were a regular feature. The Arc arts centre in Trowbridge also ran some good music events.

There is an Old Timey pub session on Sunday evenings in London at The Shakespeare's Head, Arlington Way by Sadlers Wells Theatre.
