I'm sure a lot of people here that have childhood memories of this man from the likes of 'Vision On' and various pun-titled art programmes such as 'Take Hart' &c. I was lucky enough to get a letter from him sometime in the mid 1970s when I sent him a cartoon drawing of a dog.

Gone to the great 'Gallery' in the sky. :(

"Take Hart" was great - I used to watch it with my young son. And, of course, it spawned the great Morph - which morphed into Wallace & Gromit... (i.e. Nick Parks's work). RIP.

Alas, another great gone to that studio in the sky... where I bet he's beating the living daylights out of Jackson Pollack.

Oh yes! Dear Tony!! I sat glued to Vision On and Take Hart as a child..and I loved sitting there with my own children, seeing them enjoy his gentle teaching and skills.

Lovely man! He gave much joy to many people. A good life, well shared and well lived. God Bless You, Tony. :0) x

Gosh. Can't imagine them making kids telly with a softly spoken mature gent like him anymore...

Morph rocked.

No, and our children are much the poorer for that loss of softness, gentleness and peace.

Thanks for the link. We never had that over here. I am sure my grandson will enjoy watching it with me. Sad to hear of Hart's passing.

Fondly remembered.
The theme music from the Gallery is regularly played in our Thursday night Gregson sessions in Lancaster.

Whilst morris dancing with Swindon Morris at Coleshill Fete at George Martin's house I accidently stood on Tony Hart's foot and he said sorry before I could even react.

And he whisked off a drawing of a dancing pig (Swindon Morris's emblem)straight away.

A real gentleman. One of the old school, the likes of we'll not see again.

He always seemed a lovely bloke and incredibly creative. I was surprised to read that he served with a Gurkha regiment. RIP Mr. Hart
