19 Jan 09 - 05:50 PM (#2543453) Subject: RE: 2009 old songs performers listed From: Barry Finn I'll be sure to go this yr. First off I'd like to see how Nanne & Ankie switched sexes (see their write up descriptions)aside from a great show it ought to be a funny site & I'm tickled to see Elizabeth LaPrelle is on the list, as far as I'm concerned no one's doing Mountain singing these days as well as Elizabeth. And my chance to hear Peggy Seeger after, I heard her once in the past 20 yrs, I do miss her singing. I think the last time I heard Jez Lowe was at Old Songs, my daughter changed her veiws on folk music after listening to him perform & I nearly lost my daughter. And the other performers are just the topping on the cake. Mudcatters Anglo & George are on the bill, the local treat & it's nice to see that Lou's feeling good again, I hope. Well, hopefully this will be a family weekend of camping, if not I go alone. Barry |
