This coming Friday 30th the Milkmaid has a monster evening of top quality local performers. Topping the bill are Heather, Linda and Dave the super a cappela trio known as SOUND TRADITION, arguably one of the finest groups of this genre in the country.                AND in support yet another super group BOF all individual performers in their own right who perform traditional English and French music in this superb band. A local band that is highly regarded as much on the continent as here in the UK.
It doesn't stop there, our invited floor singers are PENNI MCLAREN WALKER with BRYAN CAUSTON. Penni will be singing songs from her latest fantastic c.d.
AND, how do we do it, singing songs of the sea, the brilliant MIKE ACOTT with concertina. As many of you know Mike also sings with Capstan Fullstrengh the sea shanty crew. Phew. Super, super.

Oh, I thought it was an alternative to The Lemonade Lady, sort of in the middle of the field, Lark Rise to Candleford styleeee.....with warm frothy milk, direct from the 'tap' of nature....

Milkmaids Abounding

We sell loads of 'cow stuff' in The National Trust shop these days. Cow egg cups, salt and peppers, (really) toast racks, butter dishes, pinnies, teatowels...Yup, Cows are the new 'black'...far outsassying chickens...

I think we should sell Milkmaids too though, they'd go like hot cakes! ;0)

And now, back to the thread... :0)

This Friday 13th at the Milkmaid we have the internationally acclaimed Roland Chadwick from Australia. From Wollongong NSW he plays anything with frets but mainly guitar on which he has adapted his classical training to the folk styles.

In support on a return visit is the ragtime guitarist Peter Jackson. As well as the normal Joplinesque music Peter plays superb Irish airs both in the classical finger style. Super.

Brian is still trying to tie down the floor singers.

An update for our open/singers night on the 17th April. We are trying a new format. There are six spots that can be pre-booked and four guarenteed spots for the first come first served visitors on the night. We are hoping that this will make it easier for the organisers and the sound engineer to plan the evening to ensure the audience are accommodated. AND to give the performers a good exposure.
At this time we have one booking and one contacting tomorrow.
