Starting with This Mudcat Morning Jan 15 '09, Catters were invited to post a brief snapshot of your morning-- your MudMorning-- i.e., whatcha doin' while Mudcatting. Particularly, what are your 5+ senses experiencing at day's start? (A new fresh day!)

Mine today started with a great night's sleep (better living thru chemistry), in my OWN BED, back from a wonderful trip (only a week gone, but a month's living packed into it).

<> Hardi snoring in my ears and doggies thumping good-morning-welcome-back tails
<> Snow falling softly
<> HOT tea in my own comfy recliner
<> A week's worth of email and DVR harvest to cull
<> Flavor and sight memories slide-showing thru my appreciative mind savoring new friendships, new leadership ventures, old friendships re-stocked with news, love, and shared goals
<> A sally out into the icy steps and snow (cinders where I'd left them to make the steps safe) to fetch in the snow boots and dirty laundry I'd happily left out in the travel center (van) overnight
<> Good plans to implement from the week's good meeting with the neuro doc and GREAT meeting with internist
<> No noticeable side effects from a meds boost that started last night
<> An olddude laptop half-full of resources to share back home and Inauguration Day reflections to edit and post (and preach at some upcoming meetings)
<> Hockey tonight with my honey (TV) and tix Friday for an ECHL game

I had been musing-- how to make the transition from the mountain-peak experiences of the week back to our frozen mountain of ministries and home chores? But a friend's email this AM took care of that for me:

(St. Theresa's Prayer)

May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Happy MudMorning!

Iguess if you can start with a night's slep then so can I. I took Granddaughter Ayla (18 months) to bed and started singing her to sleep. Instead of going to sleep she started singing along.

Got a phone call about a job just before 7:00 this morning so here's hoping the rest of the day goes as well.

That'll teach ya, Bert!**bg**

Thanks for the prayer, Susan. It is stunningly beautiful and what I would wish for us all.

2nd good MudMorning in a row! Slept 8 hours last night & 10 hours the night before, and do NOT have to go out in the frozen landscape! (Snow with freezing rain on top)...Rita is feeling better after a LONG day at hospital on Monday getting the body equivalent of a valve job. (outpatient...but a LONG one).

So..as I finish my coffee and smile at my wife sitting at the other computer beside me, I can just read and rest and be thankful for good fortune....and know I don't have to go OUT for a day or so.

This morning I have received a new lease on an important part of my life--my right eye. It had gradually been losing vision due to accumulated protein deposits on the lens, a condition commonly called cataracts for some reason. Yesterday, in an amazingly brief operation, the clouded lens was removed and a synthetic inserted in its place. I love straightforward, workable medical technology, in competent compassionate hands. My surgeon is a wizard at what he does. The world is insanely rich with colors and flooded with light!! It is most beautiful, even though it will take a few days to stabilize the focus. I can read things and see details with this dear old eyeball I never could before. I was woozy as hell, mostly from unaccustomed exposure to Valium, yesterday, and slept a lot. Today, things are brighter and more colorful looking than they have been for years and years.

It brings home to me how dependent we get on eyeballs. WHile I would prefer not to be dependent on mine, I must say that I can understand the addiction. Colors and the movement of light are really beautiful.

All the best,

Great news, Amos!

Now... those drops... on time every time. Matter of fact, get more and use them four times a day instead of just AM and PM. And, wear a patch when you go outside. Just don't take ANY risk of infection. And, take it real easy. NO strenuous exercise or anything that will raise your blood pressure.

If I sound like a mother hen, peck you.

Take care, buddy.

That is REALLY neat, Amos. Congratulations.

BillD, the body equivalent of a valve job?! Last time I had one of those, I was in hospital for...well, you know! Glad it was an outpatient thing and that Rita is better.

Somehow, I think Rita would fire on all cylinders no matter.:-)

This morning I had a follow up to THIS. Lots of fun!
