Grandson (5) signed his name on my card and granddaughter made some squiggles too. Got a Tomtom from Nessie (with "home" burnt into the memory no doubt) and an Aussie backscratcher from my son (it's a long story, but this is the third backscratcher over the years, and all three are still much appreciated). Pastries and cream cakes for the colleagues at work, and the workday wasn't too bad by day job standards. Home to a beautifully cooked steak (Nessie is becoming a dab hand at this) and my favourite salad: beetroot leaves. Preceded by a treble Jack Daniels on the rocks and a cigar. Followed by watching Terry Pratchett's great programme on Alzheimers (how has that man affected me and my general outlook, he'll never know - Respect!). And then Nessie popinted me towards this thread, to see some loved people's comments and wishes. Couldn't ask for a better 56th birthday. Thanks, all! |
