08 Feb 09 - 12:51 PM (#2560945) Subject: The Tindalls @ Herga Mon 9 Feb (UK) From: George Papavgeris To hear them is to love them - to see them is to go bonkers: Stuart and Paula Tindall and their princesses, Sarah and Kathryn (Tabor & Prior, Rusby and Oates watch out, these girls will claim their crowns one day!) are the the Royal Family of Harmony in my book. And you lucky people can see and hear them at Herga Fok Club, Pinner Green Social Club, Rickmansworth Road, Pinner, Middlesex HA5 3TJ this Monday 9th February at 8pm. And yes, I am biased, as the girls always give us cuddles and kisses and call us "Uncle George and Auntie Vanessa" (though in truth, Stuart and Paula would be closer to the relevant age for such a relationship with us, but we just have to make do with them being great friends). And they will be going to the studio soon with me and Jonny Dyer & Vicki Swan to help make sense of my next album. But that doesn't alter the fact that they are amazing. From traditional folk to revival stuff, Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac with a sprinkling of James Taylor and Eric Clapton, they give an evening to remember with their tight and flawless performance. I defy you not to shiver at their harmonies and not to cry at the beauty of their sound. |

09 Feb 09 - 11:27 AM (#2561770) Subject: RE: The Tindalls @ Herga Mon 9 Feb (UK) From: George Papavgeris In case you were wondering whether the Tindalls would make it tonight, given the weather warning for the Midlands (they live just North East of Banbury), I have been in contact with Stuart and they just decided to have a go. Their concern is not about coming down "south" but rather about being able to return, as the weather warning gets hairier for after midnight or so. But they have a 4x4, and they will have a neighbour call them if things start to get stiff, so that they can stage a quick getaway from Herga to avoid the worst of it all. Should it materialise. So, tonight is definitely on. And Kitty, the weather outlook for North Harrow is wet-and-squelchy but not white-and-slippery. |
