From: McGrath of Harlow Just came across this clip of some session Cajun, with one fiddle being played as a percussion instrument, and I thought I'd share it, and see what people had to say, Never seen it done quite this way, but it might be worth playing around with it. |

12 Feb 09 - 08:35 AM (#2564821) Subject: RE: Rhythm fiddle From: McGrath of Harlow Looking around for more examples of strummed fiddle I came across this Traditional Fiddle Music of the Ozarks: "A couple of the tunes feature fiddle strumming or plucking - Arkansas Hop, played by Howe Teague has him strumming on the fiddle strings like a guitar, very unusual." (Here's a page with the late Howe Teague playing a version of Arkansas Traveller, but using a bow rather than strumming.) |
