Ken Schatz & Barry Finn to tour UK July/Aug 2009

Ken Schatz & Barry Finn to tour UK 24/7-?/? as Finn & Laddie
(Could a mudelf or Joe Offer complete the title, please, thanks)

Finn & Haddie (www.FinnAndHaddie.com) & (www.MySpace.com/FinnAndHaddie) has been invited to perform at the Scarborough Seafest (http://www.seafest.org.uk/) on July 24 -26. Since our invite my singing partner Neil has had some family medical issues come up he can't make this. Ken Schatz, who I've enjoyed singing with in the past (http://www.kenschatz.com), a mudcatter and New York shanty singer extraordinaire and I will be performing together instead as Finn & Laddie & likely we (Neil & I) will be having Ken by our sides much more often in the future. We'll hopefully be staying longer than just the weekend of the festival but we need some help getting some paying spots so that we can tour & eat.
Our concentration musically will be the singing mostly of sea music (leaning towards songs influenced by sailors of color) & prison worksongs but as anyone who knows us will say that our repertoire is wide, vast & rare. Hopefully we can get down to Swansea to visit & sing with more than a few friends there, we'll see.
What we were hoping for is that UK mudcatters could help us get spots singing at various venues so we can extend & afford our stay. We're poor, so we sing for supper, board, rides & especially money. I'm hoping that US mudcatters & others in the UK that know us & what we do will pipe up/in with some words of recommendation so those in the UK who don't know us will get an idea of who & what we are & what we do (thanks all you friends, checks will be forwarded). We are both strong & passionate singers & engagingly rousing presenters with a rare repertoire that is assured to please & tickle the fancy of most & encourage even the shyest of singers to bellow.
Our planned dates are somewhere just prior to the Seafest anywhere between July 21st (Tuesday) to the 23rd (Thursday) and depending if we get any spots we'll stay till around either the very end of July or very early August.

Thanks for any & all help
Barry Finn
Well, from the thread, all I can figure is July/Aug 2009 - hope that's OK. -Joe-

I am insanely jealous.

It is just not fair that you two are going OVER THERE to do this! No stateside tour? Our beds and breakfasts aren't enough for you? Two of my favorite singers TOGETHER... across the pond.

Words fail me...

Sorry to hear than Neil can't make the trip - but it will be great to see Dan over here with you. You're welcome to board & lodge with us for as long as you want and we're looking out for singing venues. We'll organise a sing down here with your many Welsh friends as soon as we know your schedule

That's Ken, Carole, Dan's brother. I know, they're both cute & great singers, it's just hard to tell them apart.
Thanks for the offer & for keeping an eye out for us, much appricated

Deb C, that's great, it's always great fun to be in your company

Hi Dani, you can mention us but he'll probably have no notion of who we are. I'm not available, don't give him my phone number.

I'll most likely be in the UK for part of the time you'll be there! I'm looking forward to seeing your itinerary once you've got your gigs lined up.

Now, if you get a chance to see these guys - GO! They are just the best so far as songs of the sea are concerned.

Well Barry, I'm really hoping to get to see you at some point while you're over here! So sorry that Neil can't come but glad you'll have Ken with you!

I'll put feelers out to my local clubs to see if we can get you a club bookings or two, though our area is towards the south of the UK & quite a way from Carole & Andrew. Please keep us up to date here with the dates you get booked up so we can try to fit in if the dates & distance are feasible.

I'd recommend these guys, lets see if we can sort them a good tour!!

Both members of Finn and Laddie are "not to be missed" performers. Barry has been performing sea chanties across the NorthEast for many years. He is also a fine singer of prison work songs. Ken has also been very active in the NorthEast with a focus on prison work songs.

I especially support their work with prison songs, a traditional genre that is under performed in the US.

I have heard them perform together in informal situations and in addition to their skills and knowledge they have a warm cameraderie. I wish them both well in this tour.

Barry,

Not sure I can help you with any paying gigs (we shut KFFC over the summer) in the timescale you are in the UK but we are booked at Seafest as well (as you know, I think!).

However if you are short of somewhere to stay while you are here, just let me know, we'll find you a bed and supper, no problem. You would be very welcome at Burneston Folk Club on the Wednesday night..... but they don't do paying gigs, it's purely a singaround though I could see if we could get you a longer spot if you want (but they still won't pay you!).

The Burneston organiser will be around here later tonight, so let me know if this is of any use to you. We could pass the hat round I guess.

Cheers

Paul

Ooh, this sounds fantastic - it would be great to see you Barry (and with Ken too), for as you know Fathom This has been a big favourite with me.
As for bookings etc, well summer can be a bit sparse with several clubs not booking guests over the season or even closing altogether, but I'll put some feelers out. I wish I were able to come to Scarborough SeaFest and see you, but I've never managed to get a booking there! - so do keep us posted re your schedule and I'll try to ensure we meet up somewhere somehow.
Good luck!

Thanks all for the kind words & thanks to all you who are putting out feelers on our behalf, we'd love to make our stay as musical & magical as possible.

Here's a link to Ken's web site

Hi Banjiman, I looked but I didn't see you at the Seafest site but I'm sure you're not there as Banjiman & thanks for the heads-up about
Burneston Folk Club, where is that? If we're not doing something for pay on the Wednesday night & it's a place we can get to we'd love to be there providing it's in our time frame (which at the moment is way up in the air).

Jacqui, let me know when you'll be over.

Hey Murrary, it be great to see & hear you again, I'm honored that you'll be coming down to greet us. We'll have to have some songs together & please feel free to look about your area for gigs for us if you have any connections. We will go were the gigs/food/beds especially where the money is.

Thanks Moorley Man, glad you're enjoying the CD, where abouts are you? Hopefully we can cross paths while we're there

I'll up date this as we go
Thanks to ecverybody

Time for a refresh

Ken & I will be flying in (swimming was just out of the question at my age) to Manchester on Thursday the 23rd of July & we're hoping that 2Black Sheep & a Stallion are up for the Thrusday evening at the Black Swan later that night, they've kindly offered to look after us until the Seafest where a least it seems that 2/3rds of them will be performing there. Then we'll be off to the Scarborough Seafest where we'll also see, meet & hear mudcatters Captain Birdseye & good friend Deb C who'll also be doing the Seafest. From there we'll most likely be heading down towards Llangollen where Carole & Andrew plan on showing us an aquaduct that we can surf in, behind canal boats & hopefully far behind the horse's ass. My first experience at ever seeing an aquaduct. I'm threatening to sing the "Erie Canal" if I'm not allowed to bath in it. Course that might be unhealthy for the horses (or are they mules? You got mukes in the UK?) that tow the boats if they drink from it. Ken will fly back out of Manchester that Tuesday morn & leave me & Carole & Andrew to make our way to the Bull's Bay Festival in Anglesey, Wales, from July 31st to August 2nd
(festival link here; Bull's Bay fest). Where Carole & Andrew are on the list as well as me. From there I hope to see a bit of the Swansea area & then I should probably start to make my way towards Manchester to fly back on Wednesday the 5th of August. Doesn't seem like it'll be long enough but I figure I'm just lucky to have this much time. The last time I was in this part of the world was around 25 yrs ago when I went to Ireland. I don't get out much.
The thing I'm most excited about is visiting your folk clubs. I've been hearing about them for ages from friends & espically here on Mudcat & it sounds so different from what we have here in the States that I can't even visualize what it's like there, except from the bits that I hear. And Carole & Andrew have very graciously offered to make sure that get to one as well as see some of their countryside. Thanks to you both.

If any mudcatters will be near abouts where we are we're hoping you'll cross our paths & speak up & say hi.

Thanks & hopefully we'll be seeing some of you

Hey Murry, will you still be able to make it down from the North to the Seafest? Would be good to see & sing with you & Deb again. Even though Deb & I aren't far from each other we don't get a chance to see each other to often & even get the chance less to sing together, go figure. I believe she'll be making her way down to

John Warner's lovely song "Telford's Bridge" is listed in this thread (posted by Charley Noble).

I've only just noticed this thread, Barry. I will try to get to Scarborough for Seafest weekend. Are you anywhere within reach of Fleetwood, Lancashire? (Opposite side from Scarborough, but only about fifty miles from Manchester). You would be most welcome at Fleetwood Folk Club at the Steamer, Dock Street (http://www.myspace.com/fleetwoodfolkclub) Thursday nights. There's also a small but perfectly formed song and music session at Preston Folk Club at the Moorbrook, Garstang Road, Preston on Friday nights (but I think your Fridays are spoken for!)

All the best for the trip.

Barry-

You and Ken will have a grand time and we expect a full report, with pictures, when you get back.

I do hope you get out to the end of Gowan Peninsular to view the giant worm, not to mention the standing stones. And a real canal boat ride is a life experience, especially if your canal boat is cruising over a valley several hundred feet below.

But we'll be seeing you this Saturday in Bath, Maine, at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, assuming you remember that you're booked for a concert.

Cheerily,

I don't know where Fleetwood, Lancashire is & I doubt that I'll be getting near it Ross, so I do hope to meet you & Banjiman.

Banjiman I don't know if we're going to the Black Swan, that'll ret with the horse & sheep crowd, give 'em a nudge. We'd be happy to do a foor spot but just as happy to be in a English folk club, finally & see what all the fuss is about.

Kendall, you've been in boring old Maine long enough, that dog must consider you a keeper & it thinks you've been well kept. Maybe you'd better reconsider & join Jacgui in the UK

Ross, please remind me of the CW-9 song (merchant vessels at war), with your fondness for tin can sailor songs I think you'd love this.

Charley, I well remember my dates but thanks anyway. I will have my daughters camera so I'll be taking pictures. I taken dives off bridges but never have I swam on one.

if you are going on the LLangollen canal / aquaduct - well, it is quite something--we travelled it on a canalboat when my son, now 20 was about 4 and I remember holding onto him like grim death because the aquaduct was very high and narrow and he had no sense of self preservation.........

Apart from the fact that they are great friends, I heard of Barry's reputation and caught up with him in Portsmouth New Hampshire in 2007 his performance that day knocked me out. Kenny I heard sing at the South Street Chanty sing in New York 2005 and was mightily impressed then, the songs and arrangements they brought to the seafest were breathtaking, I even got to sing a couple of songs with them, yahoo! Next year promises to be a good year for us over here if we can get "Fin & Haddie" back, and I think the J-girls might be coming over, with a bit of luck we should be having a lot of house guests, great! Anyway folk club organisers, indeed, the bums that put themselves on seats, they are a must see act.
To the boys, thanks for the company, miss you already take care

Echoing everything that Stallion said - Barry and Ken did real good at Seafest, easily the best of the booked artistes (and there was some stiff competition!). Tremendous voices, great personalities, fabulous source material, such depth of knowledge and such willingness to share it. Yes we must get Barry and Ken (and Mr Haddie) back over here as soon as practical. Club and festival organisers take note!

Oh yea Geoff K. about next years Mystic.............read this thread!!!!! I suppose it's like asking Granny to suck eggs.
Thread creep here, but to echo what MM said, the standard of the performers and performances at the Seafest was very high, to be considered top of that lot was some achievment, we had cracking sets from Debs, Andy & Carol, Penni, Peter T. Blind Summat, Monkeys fist, KK & Sylvia, Les Pirates, Dick Miles, the list is endless and some in challenging circumstances!
Well done lads you have collected yourselves a lot of fans

Well thanks for all the kind words, we only sounded that good cuz you all were singing along with us,,,,,and drinking? We had a ball, really, it was a tremendous amount of fun & thanks to all. (see the Scarborough Seafest thread)

Ken was dropped off at the airport yesterday after a visit to the
LLangollen canal & aquaduct in Wales with guides & hosts Andrew & Carole. I think Ken has my voice in his pocket, I can't seem to find it after leaving Scarborough. Deb C's still in the Yorkshire area.
I'm at Andrew & Carole's getting ready for tomorrow. Had a great radio interview with Swansea's John Carpenter who also showed up to play fiddle at the singing session earlier this evening, hosted by Carole & Andrew (thanks again guys) where I was surprised by Mike O'Leary Johns & his Mainbrace partner Tony Fraser who I was hoping to meet up with again. A bigger surprize was sitting there as I walked in, in the persons of Jerry Epstein & Ralph Bodington who are touring from the states, so I traveled 3000 miles to hear them, it was worth it... But the biggest surprize came when a very lovely singer & his wife came over afterwards to complement me on a song I had written ("You Wouldn't Know It To Look At Me") that Mike had requested me to sing after only hearing me sing once before, 7 or so yrs ago. After complementing me on the song he asked me to say hi to mudcat's Bat Goddess from Roy & when I asked "Roy who" & he said Roy Harris I nearly pissed myself & bit my tongue trying to hold back from saying "you mean Roy, my hero". If I had known it was Roy before I'd have sang him all the songs I stole from him. Good thing I didn't have to embrass myself.
I gonna go to sleep now if I can come down off my cloud, wanna get my voice rested & recovered for tomorrow night's singing party where I hear some of the same great singers will be at along with Hillary (My Guru Always Says) & her partner who'll be showing up at. After that we'll be doing Wales around the Swansea area then up to the Bull Bay festival
G'nite all

Barry

Ah, the warning was on July 24 in the Scarboro Seafest thread:

"And do make some effort to pace yourselves so you don't totally blow your vocal chords in your next set, and then have to endure the "sympathy" of all your fine new friends, and supporters back here in the States."

Obviously the warning was too late!

Home again, jiggety-jig! Wow, thank you everybody for the very kind words!

I wish I could have continued on with Barry to Bull Bay and Beyond, but alas, I had to come back to work. Scarborough was really a treat - the people couldn't have been nicer, and it was fantastic to meet and reconnect with a host of excellent singers and friends.

Particular thanks to Peter and his wonderful family, and Carole and Andrew for taking such great care of us. Two highlights for me: the York City Walls and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - whew! Super singers and performers are Carole and Andrew, too.

Thank you also very much especially to Two Black Sheep and a Stallion, everyone at the Black Swan Folk Club, Paul and Wendy (new CD!) and all of Blind Summat!, to Richard and Jeanette Grainger, Helen Pitt and Steve Dawes, Les Pirates (woo!), Hughie Jones, Dick Miles (nice work with the hens, especially), and to Ken and Jan Lardner at The Chantey Cabin. Thank you all a lot for your support - it was a real treat to meet and sing with all of you, and yes, let's do more!

DebC, great to sing and catch up with you, and thank you! Expect a call... Jacqui, a pleasure as always, and Micca, great to see you, even briefly!

Thanks more to all who joined in singing on the pier after the fireworks on Saturday and to all who took over the Leeds Arms on Sunday night. That's the stuff, right there.

And a big thank you to Barry. It is a real privilege to learn from and sing with you, boss. More, please!* Thanks and best wishes to Neil, too. Travel safe, represent, and say hi to Mainbrace, Mike, Roy and Tony!

(Hope nobody minds, I think I'll post this in the Scarborough Seafest thread too.)

*Finn and Haddie are going to be at the Portsmouth (NH) Maritime Folk Festival in September. Everybody mark your calendars!

Cheers,
Ken

Not having heard anything from the Finn Home Office, I thought perhaps mon petit frere had taken up with a rich bird from the royal family named "Delia" and was not coming back. It is so good to have this site where I can get the firsthand news from those in the know, as it were. It was great to read the positive reviews ( which were no surprise, knowing my worthy comrades). Ken better become a permanent partner if we return next year, because they will be expecting that unique sound that only he can give. Personally, the idea of Ken being with us makes me giddy with anticipation; the energy;the harmonic possibilities;the creative potential. We worked together in a "Prison Song" workshop at NEFFA, and it was fantastic to the point of incredibility, particularly since it was "spur of the moment". Of course, prison song singers come together like members of different Catholic Choirs. They all have the same or similar hymns in their repertoire and when the hymnals are handed out it all comes together as church, or in this case, prison.
Baruch, in case you get to read this, I told you in the past that you needed to watch your voice and taught you many techniques and warm-ups to preserve it, especially when it is challenged by long or repaeated performances. Did you forget this training? O.K., since you have already succumbed to injury, let me simply suggest the tea with honey route, and if the glucose spike is too much for you, just gargle with it. It's all about the warmth and the coating of the throat. Beyond that, GREAT JOB! And I most fervently pray for your continued success in the Mother Country.
                      Blessings,
                           Nahum

Ken,
First of all, Congratulations on the success of your England tour with my little friend. I knew it was going to be great. I can't believe you didn;'t go to "Stonehenge". If I had gone, that would have been a major objective. I suppose it wasn't geographically feasible.
When Barry first suggested that you take my place on the tour, I responded with "Mein Schatzy? Absolutely! He's PERFECT!" When we sang at NEFFA, the spontaneity that we were able to produce in that performance was astounding. I can only imagine what we could come up with over time with practice. Barry has suggested to me that we keep it going; the three of us; sort of "Finn n' Haddie with a Side of Filet Mignon"; Surf n' Turf, as it were.Personally, I would be delighted if you would consider it. I see boundless potential here. Plus, I would have a playmate with whom to devise schemes for driving Barry NUTS! Seriously, we have been trying to find the right third person to fill out our sound. I believe you are he. I greatly look forward to singing with you again.Besides, the UK know you and Barry as "Finn n' Haddie". Therefore, I cannot replace you, I can only try to add to the mix.
                      Most sincerely,
                           Neil

We've just finished packing for the Bull Bay fest & will head out in the morning. My voice is starting to recover, here comes another weekend, physic'ed!.
I can't believe I traveled 3000 miles to hear Jerry Epstein & Ralph Bodington 2 nights in a row, it was worth it. This time at the Llantrisant Folk Club, what a night & what a packed house. As an aside Jerry announceded that Roy Harris will be recieving a life time award at the Eisteddfod in New York. The floor singers weer all great & I'll have to say that the energy & good will put out by Pat "Ms Spoons" is enough to make the place bust with smiles, thanks to you & your hubby, Splott Man for all your warm welcomes & offers.
Had the great pleasure of meeting up with other mudcatters, Mick Tams, Jude, Hillary (see you for Portsmouth) & I'm leaving out some again, sorry, my brain is only small. What a great group of folks down here in Wales. Micca had the bottom bunk & that's all I'm gonna say at the moment except that I probably woke him up as much as he woke up me. I'll be heading up to Angelsey in the morning with Carole & Andrew to have our fill of another weekend packed with music

Charley, we did get to Rhossili & the Worm's Head off Gower, fantastic seaside scenery.
Carole & Andrew, had me tripping to Swansea too. We finished off the day with some "salt marsh lamb", yum.

Neil, my voice is on the way back but I don't know for how long with another weekend coming up, we'll see. The only thing you showed me was how to flap my lips & gums while humming & trying to get me to shake my head from side to side as I said "Ahhhhh,Eeeee,Iiiii,Ohhh" so's you could have a belly laugh at my expense

Ken, be careful I think he likes you & he's taken a shine to you. It was a great time singing & traveling with you, yes, we'll have to do more of it, soon.
Glad you mentioned Ken & Jan Lardner, I really enjoyed their company & conversations, great folks

Moorley Man, if you see this, I forgot to say it was a treat to finally meet you, thanks for dropping bye, hope we'll meet soon, again.
Barry

Lovely to see Carole & Andrew again, though I didn't get to hear them sing. Really looking forward to hearing Barry on top form at Portsmouth, though I must be careful to stand well back, not right next to him as Micca was *grin*

I'm home & rested up.
The Market Tavern in Sandbach was a real treat. Winston, who runs the club is another one of those gems who host with a knack (like Dame Patty) that makes everyone feel special & keep a flow of feeling that makes some venues stand way above the rest.
Well my trip is at a close & it's still a bit of a blur but I have to thank my gracious host Peter for he first & shortest leg & Carole & Andrew for longest leg & all of whom without I can truthfully say I would've been legless without.
Thanks to all who've posted & to those who gave me guidence as to where I might go to hear music you were a real help with the ending of my trip helping me to decided what clubs I went to, I was tickled with each place I ended up at. I finally got to see & hear what all the hype about the UK folk club scene was all about, beyond what I expected & more delightful than I imagined.
I must sayI didn't seek or ask to be a floor singer at any club but at every club, except one that was a singer's night sing around, I was asked to do a few & sometimes more. Some clubs did blues & American & some English (Thanks Patty or the Welsh), all in all they were all wonderful. I would only wish that we here in the States would copy their style for our club venues.
Micca, it was good to blow in your ear again, though not as softly as it should've been & not as loudly as I would've liked. Next time you can talk us through customs though Peter must've been spot on, as Ken did finally get through, after a call to Richard Grainger, thanks Richard. See you for the Getaway, I got the bottom bunk
Banjiman, who are these folks that want us, are they daft? Great cuz them's are our kind of folk. PM me & let me know what & who I have to do. I'll talk to Ken about his schedule but August-September is a good time
Hillary, it was nice to meet up with you you're gonna love the Getaway & Portsmouth, right up your alley, I'm excited about your arrival.
Thanks to Paul (hopefully you'll look in at mudcat & see this) in Sandbach for your hosting me on my last night & getting me to the airport the scenic way, it was a pleasure to chat with you about the older days

Love to all

Hey Barry I've been following your travels on this thread and just imagining how well what you do would be appreciated in the UK. I knew you and Ken would be a hit, and you were! I second your wish that we could somehow make UK style folk club popular here in the US. We don't seem to have anything that would be an equivalent, and more's the pity.

mmmmm Uk style folk clubs in the US. Firstly you have to be a bit more relaxed about the "lubrication", that is quite a cultural difference, the lubrication releases inhibitions and gets people joining in...that is difficult i know because of what,to us, are vast distances to travel. Our sessions and singing clubs do not concentrate on the scholarship but the fun elements, one might enquire as to where a tune or a song came from but for the majority they come for a good time. So make it fun, enjoy and don't be afraid to ask if you can have a regular night in a bar (and don't expect to be paid!) it's a start! Alternatively come to the UK en-masse and lets have a b. good party!
Pete

Thanks Pete, we will.
Here we had folk come up through the "Coffeehouse" scene, where you had it come up through the "Pubs". Even though I'm not a drinker, I like the way you guys do things. Our Irish music sessions are alot closer to yours but we hardly have a Pub singing scene like yours. There is one in Boston that just started up on a monthly basis but it's not as casual as yours & then there's the Press Room but that's a one off on it's own.
You guys should come over here more often & give us an idea as to how we show do it. That's an invite. Great to hear from you

I think the 'lubrication' is a huge difference between UK an USA. When Brian Peters did his house concert recently at my house, I offered him a drink around 5.30 pm -- he looked at me sideways and I clarified that I meant a beer or some such. He said -- well you never know in America........acceptance of alcohol in social events is a huge cultural difference (not that I am saying being drunk is ok - it is just so much more acceptable to drink over there....)

At last - time to reflect on our time with Barry & Ken and upload a few of the 100s of photos I took.

What a wonderful time! We met up with Barry & Ken at Scarborough Seafest and shared some wonderful singing there. Barry & Ken's performances were superb. What a great impromptu survivors session in the Leeds Arms on Sunday night. We left Scarborough for our trip to the Pontcysllte aquaduct on Monday and then said goodbye to Ken at Manchester Airport.

After our trip back to Wales on Tuesday Barry was interviewed on local radio (Radio Tircoed) by John Carpenter and later that evening we had arranged an informal sing at The Greyhound - one of our local pubs. Surprises galore met us all when we reached the door - we were greeted by Jerry Epstein, Ralph Boddington, Tony & Mike of Mainbrace, Roy Harris and so many other local and not quite so local singers - it was a really fantastic evening. This was followed by another wonderful evening at Llantrissant club on Saturday night where Barry had the pleasure of buying a raffle ticket
"in the dark with fish & chips" and then back to chez Dame Pattie
for an after hours soiree.

Naturally we took Barry to see the sights and delights of Gower and Swansea and had the necessary picture taken at the top of Rhossili.

Bull Bay Festival, Anglesey was our next destination via a journey through Snowdonia - very scenic but would have been even more so if I hadn't made a map reading detour.    I spent hours on dolphin watch at Bull Bay and didn't see one. Great 'fun' putting up our tents in gale force winds - all too soon it was time for us to say farewell to Barry at Bangor station and journey home - back through Snowdonia on the proper road!

Thank you Barry & Ken - we had a great time with you - it was great to see you this side of the pond for a change! Hope to see you both (& Neil) again soon.

Carole & Andrew

Geezze Carole, it's Ken & I who are deeply indebted to you & Andrew for you two being our guardian angels guides & comfortors. We were by all means & manners "under your wings" & we are both forever grateful. It's just to bad that Ken due to his teaching commitments couldn't have stayed on longer.
Thanks for taking those pictures & thanks & posting them, I'm back in the UK already, just as if I hadn't left.
You were much kinder in exposing our poses. In some pictures that were taken it's evedent that we put effort & emotion into what we do even if it looks as if we're constipated in our constraints, you were kind to wait till we passed.
We all hope to be back over soon

LOL
Barry

OOOOohh...I've just read through my post and there's a BIG omission! I did a cut and paste from word and a whole chunk got left out. Most didn't matter too much but there is no way I'd leave the post without mentioning our trip to see Theresa in her new home on our way back from Scarborough. It's been so long since we've met up and our trips to USA where the infamous bum pinching took place. We all shared lots of memories and hugs - it was wonderful to meet up again.
