George Frampton unwell

From: Surreysinger

Just a quick note to let people know that George - otherwise normally guesting on here as Gadaffi - has been seriously ill over the last few weeks, and is currently residing in St Thomas's hospital in London. After a stay in Intensive Care, and then the High Dependency unit following open heart surgery, he is now out on an open ward, and apparently not only talking but singing. The latter should be great fun for the staff and patients, no doubt... just hope he doesn't start wearing those garish shirts in there as well! I understand that he will be in St Thomas', where he will be undergoing another procedure, for about another week before being moved back down to Kent.

If anyone wants details to send him a card, please feel free to PM me.
Irene

Went up to see George on Thursday. Pleased to report he's looking well and is definitely his old loud, contentious self and is singing to the nurses. He's hoping to go home in five days time.

Flirby is bearing up to the strain well too.

News from two different sources today (yesterday?), Saturday, that George came out of hospital and returned home this morning. Obviously at this stage it's very early days for his recovery. News of Mudcatters@ concern has been passed on to him and his family.

Does George have any family connections with Crowborough in Sussex? The Snail and I were recently at a session in the Wheatsheaf, Crowborough (five varieties of Harveys, yum yum) and noticed a photo dated about 1910 of a George Frampton who was a former owner of the building. Would it be a relative?

Just to let everyone know that George has been back home for a week now and is making steady progress. He's hoping to be well enough to come over to Guildford for the Summerpole Festivities on May bank holiday weekend and will definitley be down at Sidmouth for the folk week.

Briefly. Home at last. Being looked after by the best nursing staff in the world (okay, it's Flirby). Too early to commit myself to any venture just yet, as my strength and stamina is sadly wanting.

Thanks for all your fond wishes. I am truly touched.
