Has anyone used one of these and what do they think to them?

Widely advertised in the UK glossies, a CD player/amplifier with built in hard drive for storing thousands of CD's.

I can see the advantages, and also some obvious disadvantages (e.g. cost of maintaining the information database).

But has anybody on here got one? If so, what do you think of it?

So, I guess that's a NO then?

Sorry - no, I haven't got one.

I've just looked at the models and prices on the website. A 160Gb model - no speakers - is £370 incl. delivery charges. It looks very nice. Trouble is, I already have a 160Gb iPod which holds my entire CD collection (12,000 tracks) - cost me much less than the Brennan - and the iTunes folder is duplicated on my Mac Book Pro. So, adding to my collection - by CD, USB stick, email or downloading - is pretty easy. I can play my iPod through my Teac amp and existing speakers - or take it with me if I go out.

I'm sure the Brennan digital jukebox is well made - and would probably last longer than an iPod - but I don't feel inclined to consider one personally.
